About the Role

The Company is in search of an Executive Director to lead its nationally recognized nonprofit organization. The successful candidate will be a visionary and mission-driven leader, responsible for stewarding the organization's mission and strategic direction. This role involves overseeing a staff of 18 professionals, including 5 direct reports, and working closely with a 18-person Board of Directors. The Executive Director will be the primary public representative, championing the organization's work across government, industry, and nonprofit sectors. They will also be tasked with driving a strong and sustainable fundraising strategy, ensuring operational and financial health, and deepening the organization's role in policy research, implementation, and advocacy for a more robust energy future. Applicants for the Executive Director position at the company should have a proven track record in nonprofit leadership, with experience in staff management, fundraising, and strategic planning. The role requires a leader who can cultivate a culture of inclusion, accountability, transparency, and innovation, and who is adept at bringing together diverse stakeholders to deliver impact at scale. The ideal candidate will be a trusted voice and thought leader, with the ability to represent the organization effectively to various audiences. A background in energy efficiency, environmental policy, or a related field is highly desirable, as is a deep understanding of the rapidly evolving energy landscape. The Executive Director will work in partnership with the Board of Directors, so experience in a governance or board relationship is also beneficial.
