About the Role
The Company is seeking a Managing Director for East Asia to lead a portfolio of initiatives aimed at significant carbon reductions through energy sector policy actions. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the growth of these initiatives, developing and updating strategies, and ensuring that the approved strategies are effectively implemented and evaluated. This role requires a deep understanding of energy policy and advocacy within the East Asia region, as well as the ability to engage with a diverse team, foster a culture of collaboration and inclusion, and support the professional development of team members. The Managing Director will also serve as a thought leader, representing the organization in various external engagements. Applicants for the Managing Director position should have a minimum of 10 years' experience in environmental policy, with a strong background in climate and energy policy issues specific to the East Asia region. The role demands a self-starter with excellent organizational and managerial skills, the ability to lead a diverse team, and a commitment to the values of the organization. The ideal candidate will be a mentor and coach, capable of inspiring others and effectively communicating complex ideas. A willingness to travel and a passion for reducing climate change are essential.
