About the Role
The Company is in search of a Vice President of Origination and Power Marketing to spearhead the commercial strategy and execution for the firm and its portfolio of independent power producer companies. This pivotal role involves leading the origination of off-take agreements for utility-scale renewable energy projects, including solar, wind, and storage. The successful candidate will be responsible for market entry, power fundamentals, and the full cycle of origination and execution of off-take agreements. This includes sourcing and structuring power purchase agreements, addressing and mitigating risks, and ensuring that the terms align with the company's financial targets. The role also requires close collaboration with development, finance, and operations teams to ensure the feasibility and commercialization of the projects. Applicants for the Vice President position must have a Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 7 years' of experience in the US renewable energy sector, with a proven track record of at least 5 years' in negotiating and closing PPAs and other energy contracts. A deep network of industry contacts and a strong understanding of energy markets, pricing mechanisms, and regulatory frameworks are essential. The role demands a leader with experience in a high-growth or start-up environment, the ability to create and respond to RFPs, and a detailed knowledge of wholesale power markets and products. The ideal candidate will be adept at market analysis, stay abreast of regulatory changes, and be capable of leading the commercialization of energy assets.
