The successful candidate will be responsible for the vision, strategy, and management of the organization, with a focus on financial sustainability, product and technology initiatives, and shared governance with communities. This role demands a leader with a proven track record in executive management, the ability to inspire and steward a diverse range of stakeholders, and a deep commitment to the principles of free knowledge, neutrality, and open data. The CEO will work closely with the Board of Trustees, lead a large, remote-first workforce, and be the primary spokesperson for the organization. Key responsibilities for the CEO include leading multi-year strategic planning, setting and executing annual and multi-year plans, and managing the organization's risk profile. They should be globally minded, collaborative, and able to build trusted relationships within the Wikimedia community.
