Responsibilities
Core Responsibilities
- Lead the planning, development, and implementation of a comprehensive long-range distribution system design roadmap that supports Con Edisons clean energy transition, grid modernization, and growing electric and gas system demands across New York City and Westchester County.
- Drive asset management and system planning strategy by optimizing O&M programs, guiding capital investment decisions, and advancing system tools that leverage analytics, AI, and grid-edge technologies.
- Partner with Electric Operations, Engineering, IT, Policy, and other cross-functional teams to align portfolio objectives, integrate emerging technologies, and prioritize strategic initiatives through annual business planning cycles.
- Identify growth opportunities tied to electrification, electric vehicle infrastructure, energy efficiency, and clean heating; develop data-driven business cases and secure alignment on investment plans, budgets, and execution timelines.
- Ensure strong integration between near-term operational execution and long-term strategy through continuous monitoring, performance management, and annual strategic plan development.
- Lead, manage, and coordinate cross-functional teams responsible for delivering new departmental initiatives, pilots, and strategic programs tied to the clean energy transition.
- Provide strategic leadership, structured problem-solving, and decision support to Distribution Engineering leadership while fostering innovation and continuous improvement.
- Represent Con Edison with external stakeholders, including the New York State Department of Public Service and industry partners, and present strategic recommendations and progress updates to senior executives.
Required Education/Experience
- Bachelor's Degree in business, engineering, energy-related discipline, and economic and 3 years of work experience or
- Master's Degree in business, engineering, energy-related discipline and economics and 2 years of work experience
- Demonstrated experience managing teams or projects or processes. Required
- Demonstrated ability to prioritize, analyze and solve complex strategic and tactical opportunities. Required
- Demonstrated ability to analyze and synthesize data into business insights and effectively communicate the information in oral and written deliverables. Required
- Advanced communication, presentation, writing and analytical skills. Required
- Demonstrated organizational skills, and the ability to see the big picture and attention to detail. Required
- Ability to deal with ambiguity and comfortable working in a dynamic environment. Required
- Two years experience in regulated and/or market driven utility programs (e.g., energy efficiency), including work with program or project strategy and delivery. Preferred
- Proven capabilities in Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel). Preferred
- Experience in strategy roles or developing and implementing strategic projects. Preferred
- Experience presenting to senior executives. Preferred
- Experience and or knowledge of New York States Climate Leadership and Community Protection Act (CLCPA) and the local clean energy policy landscape. Preferred
- Proven leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to drive results by collaborating with stakeholders to build consensus. Preferred
- Ability to make decisions in real-time, under pressure. Preferred
- Ability to drive multiple projects to successful completion
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint, etc.

- The selected candidate will be assigned a System Emergency Assignment (i.e., an emergency response role) and will be expected to work non-business hours during emergencies, which may include nights, weekends, and holidays.
