Job Title: Outreach Consultant

Job Location: New Brunswick, New Jersey

ABOUT:

DESCRIPTION:

  • Senior-level role supporting JCP&L’s Commercial & Industrial programs. Leads outreach strategy, develops pipelines, and drives customer participation.
  • Works with contractors, trade allies, and customers to identify opportunities and convert leads into projects. Also supports KPI tracking, process improvements, and provides guidance to junior staff while collaborating across teams to meet program goals.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Core Outreach Responsibilities

  • Perform all duties of prior Outreach Consultant roles
  • Support outreach execution, including planning and coordination
  • Collect, analyze, and report outreach data
  • Participate in training and professional development activities
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Program Management, Engineering, Marketing, Reporting)
  • Identify outreach opportunities and ensure alignment with program goals
  • Attend and present at trade shows and events
  • Prepare outreach and educational materials
  • Support customer and Trade Ally engagement efforts
  • Coordinate approved outreach-related purchases
  • Contribute to reports and project deliverables
  • Ensure work is completed within schedule and budget expectations

Senior-Level Outreach & Strategic Responsibilities

  • Independently plan and execute standard outreach tasks with minimal supervision
  • Handle more complex assignments aligned with program priorities
  • Develop expertise in specific sectors or domains
  • Identify and convert high-potential leads
  • Support pipeline development across assigned market segments
  • Track and report key performance indicators (KPIs)
  • Contribute to annual outreach planning
  • Support operational documentation and process improvement initiatives
  • Ensure achievement of program goals and targets
  • Assist in training, mentoring, and shadowing junior staff
  • Provide guidance to team members during execution of outreach tasks

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education and Background: Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree is preferred but not required in sustainability, business, marketing, construction management, or a related field.
  • Experience: 5+ years of experience in outreach, sales, project management, or a customer-facing role within the energy efficiency or building sectors.
  • Residency and Transportation: New Jersey residency required. As this role requires travel, candidate must possess a personal vehicle and an unencumbered driver’s license (mileage reimbursed).
  • Communication Skills: Excellent public speaking and written communication skills.
  • Computer Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word and the ability to learn and operate TRC/client designed customer relationships management (CRM) system
  • Project Management: Strong project management skills, with experience in developing reports, meeting deadlines and managing resources effectively.
  • Industry Knowledge: Understanding of LEED, ENERGY STAR®, and/or GRESB is a plus. Familiarity with CRM software for campaign tracking and reporting.

TRAVEL:

  • Up to 30% local/regional travel for site visits and customer meetings.
