About the job
The Outreach Coordinator is predominately responsible for recruiting volunteers and clients for free home energy tune-ups, co-coordinating biannual Energy Coach trainings, recruiting and overseeing interns to support daily operations, and representing the CWC at community events. This position reports to the Program Director and consists of a mix of office work and off-site recruitment activities. The CWC office is located near Downtown Gainesville; community events take place across Alachua County.

Tasks and Responsibilities
Community Engagement and Client Recruitment
- Develop and maintain partnerships with key neighborhoods, constituent groups, and service organizations
- Research and pursue speaking opportunities to help disseminate information about CWC, including workshops to both youth and adults
- Assist with the Language Access Plan and coordinate outreach to better serve clients served with limited English proficiency (Spanish language speakers)
- Represent the CWC by tabling at outreach events
- Recruit clients for testimonial interviews; script, shoot, edit as needed
Volunteer Coordination and Management
- Develop and implement strategies to recruit volunteers and trainers for biannual Energy Coach Trainings
- Train and manage an Outreach Team of volunteers
- Coordinate volunteer recognition and appreciation, and other volunteer retention activities
- Recruit and hire qualified interns and volunteers to support CWC operations, including skilled volunteers
- Train and mentor inexperienced Energy Coaches during home energy tune-ups (occasional)
Miscellaneous Duties
- Daily operations, including booking: assist with scheduling and coordinating between volunteers and residents to perform tune-ups
- Write follow-up reports for clients
- Marketing: volunteer newsletter, coordinate media releases, graphic design
- As needed:
- Assist in the design of promotional materials for events, trainings, and potential mailers
- Oversee office volunteers and interns, providing them with proper supervision, strong leadership, and guidance as needed
- Maintain volunteer contact and hours records
- Enter and manage data for client files, reviewing tune-up spreadsheets for accuracy
- Assist with fundraising efforts
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge and Skills
Required
- Associate’s degree or higher education; equivalent work experience considered
- Positive, collaborative attitude; able to engage diverse stakeholders
- Strong attention to detail
- Highly effective communicator both in speech and writing
- Exceptional customer service skills, over the phone and in person, with clients, partners, and volunteers
- Strong organizational skills: individual must be comfortable working independently
- Passion for sustainability, energy efficiency, and CWC’s mission
- Proficient in Microsoft Office programs and web-based applications such as G-Suite and Canva
- Holds a valid Florida Driver’s license
Preferred skills and experience
- Experience working or volunteering in non-profit sector
- Volunteer management and recruitment, or staff management
- Community organizing
- Fluency in Spanish
- Data management/analysis
- Comfortable with public speaking
- Event planning
Physical requirements and working conditions
- Required to sit for long periods
- Must be available and willing to work occasional weekends and evening events
- Occasional exposure to potential allergens such as animals, mold, cigarette smoke during home energy tune-ups
- Able to do occasional heavy lifting, climb a 6’ ladder, and be capable of moderate physical activity during tune-ups (bending, lifting, reaching arms above head for short periods)
- Must have reliable transportation and ability to transport tune-up equipment (including 5-6′ ladder) and event supplies
Schedule: Monday to Friday typical; occasional weekends and evenings, on-call one weekend/month
Job Type: Part-time to full-time, 20-40 hours per week
Pay: Hourly; $18.00-$20.00/hour to start, based on experience

Benefits: Paid time off per organizational policy (includes Federal Holidays and one week during Holidays); most evenings off, some flexibility in work schedule
