Join the power movement as a Facilities & Maintenance Lead

The Lead Facilities Technician at Commonwealth Fusion Systems is responsible for leading a team of technicians and contractors in the execution of routine operation, installation, maintenance and repair of facilities related processes, equipment and systems. Responsibilities include close coordination with internal and external service providers to ensure the reliable, safe and comfortable operation of our facilities and associated services and amenities.

What you'll do:

  • Lead a team of contractors and internal technicians in the execution of routine tasks required for the safe and efficient operation of the CFS Devens Campus facilities
  • Maintain the daily/weekly/monthly objectives and communicating them to employees
  • Work within the facilities and maintenance team to develop and implement new policies and procedures for the operation and maintenance of manufacturing equipment and systems
  • Troubleshoot and resolve discrepancies with a focus on continuous improvement
  • Serve as the main point of contact and customer interface for facilities services
  • Monitor facilities activities, equipment and systems for proper operation. Identifies and troubleshoots issues, identifying, communicating and implementing viable solutions to the team
  • Maintain accurate records of all projects and assignments
  • Maintain a safe work environment and operates in a safe manner
  • Perform other related job duties related to the job, as assigned by management

What we're looking for:

  • High school diploma/equivalency certificate or higher
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience with hand tools and machine shop equipment
  • Minimum of 4 years’ experience in a variety of technical support skills such as but not limited to mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire protection and HVAC systems in a manufacturing and office environment.
  • Minimum of 4 years’ experience in effectively coordinating the activities of internal and contracted service providers in the execution of equipment maintenance and installation projects
  • Commitment and ability to communicate safety and quality to your team
  • Ability to lead and give direction to a fast paced, highly skilled team
  • Desire to work and contribute in a fast-paced environment with daily changes.
  • Ability to take directions from Supervisors & Managers and work independently
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal) to a team reporting to you of daily and weekly goals
  • Ability to train others in a variety of hands on and technical applications
  • Meticulous attention to detail and cleanliness with hands-on work keeping continuous improvement in the forefront
  • Ability and patience to work through projects from start to finish, including assembly and testing keeping your team motivated and engaged

Bonus points for:

  • Experience with NFPA, NADA and NEC codes
  • Experience with lean manufacturing, 5S, and Six Sigma principles
  • Forklift experience
  • Crane or lifting experience

Must-have requirements:

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally
  • Perform activities such as typing, standing, and sitting, for extended periods of time
  • Willingness to occasionally travel or work required nights/weekends/on-call
  • Work in a facility that contains industrial hazards including heat, cold, noise, fumes, strong magnets, lead (Pb), high voltage, high current, pressure systems, and cryogenics
