We currently have an exciting career opportunity for an Experienced Associate to join the Renewable energy team in our National Assurance practice.

CohnReznick is a hybrid firm and most of our professionals are located within a commutable distance to one of our offices. This position is considered hybrid which means team members are expected to be thoughtful and intentional in how they create opportunities for in-person collaboration. This position will support our Assurance – Renewable energy team and as an Audit Industry Experienced Associate , you will be part of a dynamic team delivering high-quality audit and assurance services to clients in the Finance sectors. You will work closely with clients and internal teams to understand industry-specific challenges and provide actionable insights that drive business

YOUR ROLE.

Responsibilities Include But Not Limited To

  • Execute assigned audit areas from planning through completion, including risk assessment, walkthroughs, substantive testing, and analytical
  • Prepare workpapers to firm and regulatory documentation standards, with conclusions that are clearly supported and
  • Perform testing over core cycles - cash, receivables, payables, fixed assets, debt, accruals, revenue, and payroll — and progressively take on more complex renewable-specific areas as you build sector
  • Handle day-to-day client requests, track open items, and follow up on outstanding information without
  • Research accounting and auditing questions using authoritative guidance and draft initial positions for senior and manager
  • Assist with drafting financial statements and disclosures under US GAAP and IFRS.
  • Support interns and first-year associates on the engagement through informal coaching and review of basic
  • Flag issues, scope changes, and budget pressure to your senior or manager early rather than at
  • Contribute to process improvements and adoption of audit data analytics tooling on your

Technical scope

You Will Work Across Standard Audit Cycles From Day One. Over Your FIrst Year You Will Build Depth In Renewable-specific Accounting, Including

US GAAP

  • ASC 606 - revenue recognition for power purchase agreements, RECs, and O&M arrangements
  • ASC 360 / ASC 350 - long-lived asset impairment and asset capitalization
  • ASC 410 - asset retirement obligations for decommissioning and site restoration
  • ASC 842 - land leases, rooftop leases, and site control arrangements
  • ASC 470 / ASC 835 - project finance debt, construction loans, and capitalized interest
  • Exposure to ASC 810 consolidation, ASC 815 derivative scoping, and tax equity structures under senior supervision

IFRS

  • IFRS 15, IFRS 16, and IFRS 9
  • IAS 16 and IAS 23 for asset capitalization and borrowing costs
  • IAS 36 impairment and IAS 37 provisions
  • Practical exposure to GAAP-to-IFRS differences and reporting package conversions

Your Experience.

The successful candidate will have:

  • 2–3 years of external audit experience in public accounting, with substantial financial statement audit
  • Working knowledge of US GAAP and/ or IFRS, with demonstrated ability to research guidance and reach a supportable
  • Sound documentation habits - workpapers that a reviewer can follow without a
  • Clear written and verbal communication, including comfort raising questions directly with client finance
  • Ability to manage multiple engagements and deadlines with limited day-to-day direction.
  • CA (ICAI or equivalent) or CPA qualified. Candidates who are part-qualified or actively pursuing certification will also be considered where technical strength is
  • Relevant experience gained at a CA or CPA firm is an added
  • Exposure to both US GAAP and
  • Industry experience in any sector - manufacturing, real estate, financial services, infrastructure, technology, or otherwise. Renewable energy experience is welcome but not
  • Familiarity with PCAOB standards, ISAs, or
  • Experience with audit data analytics tooling, Alteryx, Power BI, or
