About Coastal Waste & Recycling

At Coastal Waste & Recycling, we're building more than a company, we're building a team. As one of the fastest-growing privately held waste and recycling companies in the Southeast, we're looking for people who take pride in their work, put safety first, and are ready to grow with us.

Lead Waste Collection Operations. Develop District Leaders. Drive Regional Performance.

Coastal Waste & Recycling is seeking an experienced Regional Vice President of Operations to lead multi-site solid waste collection and recycling operations across South Florida.

This is a hands-on executive leadership role responsible for directing District Managers, improving collection productivity, overseeing fleet and labor performance, driving safety and DOT compliance, and delivering regional P&L results.

The ideal candidate has demonstrated success leading complex, route-based field operations, developing operational leaders, improving asset utilization, and managing large frontline workforces across multiple locations.

We are seeking an operational leader who understands what it takes to run a business in the field—not simply manage it from a financial report.

Your Role

As a Regional Vice President , you'll provide leadership across multiple collection and post-collection operations while overseeing District Managers, Assistant District Managers, and regional operational leaders. You'll partner closely with the Market Area President and the Regional Leadership Team to execute business strategy, strengthen operational performance, develop future leaders, and ensure every district consistently delivers outstanding safety, customer service, environmental compliance, and financial results.

What You'll Do

  • Lead, coach, develop, and hold accountable District Managers, Assistant District Managers, Controllers, Sales Representatives, Fleet Maintenance leadership, and other regional leaders.
  • Build a culture centered on safety, accountability, operational excellence, environmental stewardship, customer service, and continuous improvement.
  • Establish the strategic vision and operational priorities for the region while ensuring alignment with Coastal's mission, values, and long-term business objectives.
  • Own regional financial performance, including profit and loss (P&L), budgeting, forecasting, procurement oversight, labor management, capital planning, productivity, and operational performance.
  • Partner with Finance and Controllers to ensure sound financial management, accurate reporting, procurement oversight, budgeting, forecasting, and fiscal accountability across the region.
  • Ensure every district consistently achieves operational, financial, safety, environmental, staffing, and customer service goals.
  • Oversee collection operations, transfer stations, recycling facilities, landfills, fleet maintenance operations, and other post-collection facilities to ensure safe, compliant, and efficient operations.
  • Ensure all facilities consistently meet OSHA, EPA, DOT, environmental permitting requirements, and all applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Ensure every location maintains appropriate staffing levels while developing strong leadership teams and succession plans that prepare future leaders for advancement.
  • Hold District Managers accountable for coaching, developing, and preparing successors while strengthening leadership depth throughout the region.
  • Lead regional sales performance by partnering with Sales leadership to strengthen municipal partnerships, support acquisitions, retain customers, identify growth opportunities, and expand market share.
  • Build strong relationships with municipalities, regulatory agencies, environmental officials, customers, vendors, contractors, and community leaders while representing the Coastal brand.
  • Oversee procurement strategies, vendor performance, capital investments, and major purchasing decisions to ensure responsible financial stewardship.
  • Analyze regional operational and financial performance metrics to identify trends, improve productivity, optimize facility performance, maximize equipment utilization, and drive continuous improvement.
  • Lead acquisitions, operational integrations, municipal contract transitions, new facility start-ups, and other strategic growth initiatives.
  • Partner with People Experience, Career Path, Safety, Fleet Maintenance, Finance, Customer Experience, and the Regional Leadership Team to ensure alignment across all functions and successful execution of company initiatives.
  • Oversee significant customer escalations, regulatory inspections, environmental matters, employee relations issues, operational incidents, and business risks while ensuring timely and appropriate resolution.
  • At Coastal, we win as a team. Our Regional Vice President develop exceptional leaders, strengthen organizational culture, drive operational excellence, protect the environment, and execute Coastal's long-term strategy while preparing the next generation of leadership.
