We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic Senior Advisor on ESG and Climate Accounting to support client engagements. This individual will serve as a key subject matter expert on ESG performance, climate disclosures, and GHG emissions calculations, playing a critical advisory role to executive leadership and cross-functional teams. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in environmental policy, climate science, ESG reporting frameworks (such as IFSR, ISSB, CSRD), and advanced GHG accounting methodologies based on the GHG Protocol, ISO standards, and sector-specific benchmarks.

Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary advisor to executive leadership and engagement teams on ESG and climate accounting, especially with respect to regulatory compliance and risk management
- Translate complex regulatory developments (e.g., IFRS, ISSB, CSRD, and other jurisdictional requirements) into actionable business strategies
- Shape and guide the company’s decarbonization strategy, including science-based targets and net-zero pathways
- Lead enterprise-wide implementation of GHG accounting processes (Scopes 1, 2, and 3), including emissions boundary setting, data collection, calculation methodologies, and assurance processes
- Oversee the development and maintenance of GHG emissions inventories aligned with GHG Protocol and relevant standards
- Evaluate and implement tools and technologies for automated GHG data tracking and reporting
- Ensure consistency, accuracy, and completeness in climate-related data and disclosures
- Monitor and interpret evolving ESG and climate disclosure regulations (e.g., SEC, EU CSRD, IFRS/ISSB, local jurisdictions)
- Advise on and contribute to mandatory and voluntary ESG disclosures and regulatory filings
- Professional certification in GHG accounting, ESG reporting, or sustainability (e.g., GHG Inventory Quantifier, ISSP, SASB/FSA credential, LEED AP, ESG focus)
- Working knowledge of GHG emissions quantification tools, life cycle assessments (LCA), and carbon accounting platforms (e.g., Sphera, Persefoni, Watershed)
- Experience in ESG strategy, climate policy, or sustainability consulting, with a focus on GHG emissions calculation and reporting
- Proven leadership in implementing GHG accounting systems and managing climate disclosures in a corporate or advisory capacity
- Deep familiarity with regulatory and voluntary ESG frameworks (e.g., IFRS, TCFD, ISSB, GHG Protocol)
- Deep understanding of climate risk modeling, internal carbon pricing, and emissions forecasting
- Strategic thinker with a hands-on approach to problem-solving
- Strong executive presence and ability to communicate complex issues to senior stakeholders
- High degree of integrity, professionalism, and accountability
