ROLE

The Scientific Project Manager will play a pivotal role in the daily coordination and implementation of ongoing research initiatives, with a primary focus on EU-funded projects.

This multifaceted position involves overseeing project reporting, tracking milestones, and ensuring the seamless follow-up of all deliverables. Beyond administrative monitoring, the role encompasses proactive risk and data management, alongside rigorous quality assurance to uphold the highest standards of research excellence.

A significant portion of the role is dedicated to fostering effective communication between internal teams and external partners, acting as a bridge to ensure collaborative success. This includes contributing to outreach and stakeholder engagement initiatives, such as the organization and facilitation of workshops, high-level meetings, and strategic dissemination activities.

Furthermore, the successful candidate will provide essential expertise in financial oversight, assisting with budgeting and control to ensure fiscal compliance. Looking toward future growth, the Project Manager will also contribute to the strategic expansion of our research portfolio by identifying potential partners, structuring international consortia, and co-authoring innovative research proposals.

Requirements

  • Educational Background: A Degree in Economics, Management, International Relations, Political Science, Environmental Sciences, or equivalent subjects. A Master’s degree is considered an advantage but is not required
  • Professional Experience: Proven experience in project management within the research, innovation, policy, or comparable sectors. We welcome candidates with varying levels of experience, as seniority will be assessed based on the individual profile
  • Key Assets: Previous experience in coordinating partners from diverse institutions and countries, as well as a track record in proposal writing and consortium building, will be highly valued
  • Language & Technical Skills: Full professional proficiency in both Italian and English, along with an excellent command of the Microsoft Office Suite
  • Interpersonal Skills: Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities, with a proven knack for interacting with partners in a professional, respectful, and constructive manner
  • Soft Skills: A strong teamworking attitude combined with the ability to work independently, manage priorities, and meet tight deadlines
  • Analytical Mindset: Robust organizational and critical thinking skills
  • Motivation: A high drive to learn and thrive within a dynamic and evolving research environment

Duration, Compensation & Benefits

  • Please note that this opportunity will be issued both internally and externally.
  • The Scientific Project Manager will be based at the Caserta CMCC office. In-person presence in Caserta on a regular monthly basis, to be agreed upon, will be considered important to support effective coordination and collaboration with the team
  • Contract type, working time arrangement and gross annual salary will be defined based on the candidate’s qualifications, level of experience and suitability for the role. Part-time arrangements may also be considered, depending on the candidate’s profile and organizational needs
  • Welfare package for contracts with a minimum duration of 12 months
  • Flexible working time as per internal policies
  • Support during the immigration process, if needed

Belonging to legally protected categories (ex L. 68/99) will constitute a preferential condition.

Some fiscal benefits could be applied for repatriated workers or foreign researchers/professors, having the requirements defined by Dlgs 147/2015 (for repatriates) or Dl 78/2010 (for foreigners).
