About Climeaction

Climeaction is an international industrial decarbonisation and carbon intelligence company headquartered in Cork, Ireland with offices in Boston and São Paulo. We work with major industrial clients across Life Science, Food Beverage, Manufacturing, and Energy sectors to deliver measurable energy savings and carbon reductions through our Climate Action as a Service (CAaaS®) model. We are B Corp and ISO 9001 certified.

The Opportunity

This is a rare opportunity for a recent or near-graduate engineer to start their career at the cutting edge of industrial decarbonisation. You won’t be filing paperwork or watching from the sidelines – you’ll be on-site with clients from day one, learning how real energy systems work and contributing to projects that deliver genuine environmental and financial impact.

We’re looking for someone curious, technically sharp, and motivated to learn. You’ll be supported by experienced engineers across our Cork, Boston, and São Paulo offices, with a structured development path that will fast-track your growth into a fully capable energy or design engineer.

If you studied Mechanical, Electrical, or Energy Engineering and want a career where you can see the direct results of your work – in reduced emissions, lower energy costs, and better-performing industrial systems – this is the role.

What You’ll Do

  • Assist senior engineers with energy assessments, site surveys, and data collection across industrial client sites.
  • Learn to analyse energy consumption data, identify inefficiencies, and contribute to the development of energy saving opportunities.
  • Support the preparation of technical reports, feasibility studies, engineering calculations, and design documentation.
  • Get hands-on exposure to core industrial utility systems including HVAC, Steam, Chilled Water, LPHW, Compressed Air, Cooling Towers, and electrical distribution.
  • Contribute to energy audits and baseline development in line with standards such as IS 399, EN 16247, and ISO 50001.
  • Assist with Measurement Verification (MV) activities to track and validate project savings post-implementation.
  • Help prepare project scopes, bills of quantities, and cost estimates under the guidance of senior team members.
  • Attend client meetings and site visits – building your confidence in technical communication and stakeholder engagement from the outset.
  • Support the wider engineering team with research, benchmarking, and continuous improvement of Climeaction’s technical processes and tools.
  • Participate in Climeaction’s internal training and development programme, with a clear path towards professional chartership.
  • Essential
  • A degree (Level 8 or higher) in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Energy Engineering, Building Services Engineering, or a closely related discipline. Final-year students expecting to graduate in 2026 are welcome to apply.
  • A genuine interest in energy, sustainability, and how industrial systems work.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills – comfortable working with data, calculations, and technical concepts.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills – you’ll be producing technical reports and engaging with clients early in your career.
  • Self-motivated with a willingness to learn, ask questions, and take initiative.
  • Full clean driving licence.
  • Desirable
  • Relevant final-year project, thesis, or internship experience in energy efficiency, building services, or industrial systems.
  • Familiarity with engineering software such as AutoCAD, Revit, MATLAB, or energy modelling tools.
  • Exposure to or interest in standards such as ISO 50001, IPMVP, or SEAI energy programmes.
  • Experience with data analysis tools (Excel at a strong level, Python, or similar).

What You'll Get

  • Competitive graduate salary.
  • 25 days’ annual leave plus public holidays.
  • Pension scheme with employer contribution.
  • Structured mentoring and development programme with a clear path to chartership (Engineers Ireland, IMechE, CIBSE, or equivalent).
  • Real project exposure from day one – not a back-office graduate scheme.
  • Flexible working arrangements – mix of office, site, and remote.
  • The chance to work with an international team across Ireland, the US, and Brazil on high-impact decarbonisation projects.
  • A company that genuinely cares about the work it does and the people who do it.
