What You'll Do
- Research, develop and validate greenhouse gas emission models for a range of agricultural systems — including tillage, beef, dairy, pigs, poultry and mixed farming — across multiple geographies and regulatory frameworks
- Translate complex agronomic and emissions science into clean, structured model logic that can be integrated into the VSAg platform by our development team
- Work closely with the VSAg Consultants software developers to ensure models are accurately implemented, tested and maintained as the platform evolves
- Stay current with IPCC methodologies, national GHG inventory frameworks and emerging carbon accounting standards relevant to agriculture
- Support the development of new VSAg modules as we expand into new regions, commodities and supply chain use cases
- Contribute to the scientific credibility of VSAg — including documentation, methodology notes and engagement with clients or certifying bodies where required
- A degree in Agricultural Science, Environmental Science, Sustainability, Agri-environmental Science or a closely related discipline
- A strong understanding of greenhouse gas emissions in agricultural systems — whether from academic study, a thesis, placement or early career experience
- Comfort working with data, spreadsheets and quantitative modelling; prior exposure to programming or scripting (Python, R or similar) is an advantage
- Curiosity and rigour in equal measure — this role demands both scientific precision and a willingness to learn fast
- Good written communication skills — you'll need to explain complex methodology clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences
- A genuine interest in climate action and the role of agriculture in the transition
- A full-time, permanent role from day one — not an internship or fixed-term contract
