ClimateWorks’ HR Department is responsible for providing quality HR services that support our employees and promote a healthy organizational culture. Our goal is to ensure that we have the type of HR programs, policies, processes, and practices in place that would aid us in attracting, developing, and retaining a high caliber workforce.

We’re on a hunt for qualified and resourceful HR Generalist to support our HR department. The HR Generalist will have both administrative and strategic responsibilities, helping the company to plan and administer important functions in HR administration, training & development, and recruitment.

The HR Generalist will play an important part in building a strong employer brand for ClimateWorks Foundation and will support our efforts in attracting, developing, and retaining a qualified and diverse workforce.

Essential Tasks

Recruitment

Facilitate all phases of the recruitment process in accordance with ClimateWorks’ hiring framework. Work closely with Recruitment Specialist and other members of the HR team.
Collaborate with hiring managers to identify and draft detailed, accurate and inclusive job descriptions and hiring criteria.
In collaboration with others in the HR department identify and implement efficient and effective recruiting methods and strategies based on the position criteria, organizational needs, and DEI standards (includes job postings, sourcing of passive candidates, and working with external search firms).
Implement recruiting and hiring strategies to attract employees from diverse backgrounds.
Work closely with our global PEO in onboarding and finalizing contracts for international hires.
Determine applicant qualifications by interviewing applicants, analyzing responses, and comparing qualifications to job requirements.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and company policies.

Training & Development

Work with Senior HR Director and supervisors in evaluating individual and organizational developmental needs.
Create and execute learning strategies and programs to address staff and supervisor developmental needs for a hybrid work environment.
Implement organization wide learning methods (e.g., coaching, job-shadowing, online training).
Assess the success of professional development plans and help employees make the most of learning opportunities.
Review, track, and document compliance with mandatory and non-mandatory training. This includes safety training and anti-harassment training.
Help managers develop their team members through career pathing.

HR Administration

Ensure that all personnel actions (pay administration, leave administration, performance management, training and development, recruitment, etc.) are equitable and fair.
Supports the annual employee goal setting and performance assessment process.
Support the annual equity review process.
Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.
Coordinates payroll processing with HR Specialist and Accounting, reviews payroll reports and HR systems to ensure accuracy and timely processing.
Support the HR team with employment-related inquiries from applicants, employees, and supervisors, referring complex and/or sensitive matters to the HR Director.
Support routine HR tasks required to administer and execute human resource programs including but not limited to record management, compensation administration, benefits administration, leave administration, occupational health and safety, and employee morale and recognition.

Requirements

7 to 10 years of experience working as a Generalist with at least 5+ years of experience in recruitment and training & development.
Ability to develop and manage interpersonal relationships at all levels of the organization. High degree of service orientation.
Prior experience working with a PEO.
Demonstrated experience in implementing sourcing strategies for recruitment for a variety of roles.
Proactive and independent with the ability to take initiative.
Familiarity with laws, regulations, and best practices applicable to hiring and recruitment.
Proficient with or the ability to quickly learn applicant-tracking software or other recruitment systems.
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or related or PHR or SPHR certification a plus or relevant work experience.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Capacity to apply discretion and maintain a high level of confidentiality when handling sensitive information.
Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
Ability to work effectively and efficiently (both virtually and in-person) with minimal supervision.
