Role Description The Director of Government Relations is a remote, contract role responsible for developing and executing strategies to advance ClimateCard.xyz’s policy and regulatory interests. This role involves building and maintaining relationships with government officials, agencies, and legislative bodies to support climate-focused initiatives and digital climate solutions. Day-to-day tasks include monitoring relevant legislation and regulatory developments, preparing policy briefs and position papers, coordinating advocacy campaigns, and representing the organization in governmental and industry forums. The Director will collaborate with internal teams to align government relations efforts with product, communications, and partnership strategies, and advise leadership on opportunities and risks within the public policy landscape.

Qualifications
- Demonstrated expertise in governmental affairs and government relations, with experience engaging public sector stakeholders.
- Proficiency in lobbying and legislative relations, including advocacy planning and direct engagement with policymakers.
- Strong understanding of legislation and regulatory processes, particularly in climate policy, environmental regulation, or digital assets.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to synthesize complex policy issues clearly.
- Experience working in or with governmental bodies, NGOs, or policy-focused organizations; background in climate, sustainability, or technology is highly beneficial.
- Ability to work independently in a remote, contract capacity, manage multiple priorities, and deliver results to agreed timelines.
- Relevant academic background in public policy, political science, law, environmental studies, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
