Role Description The Carbon Credit Researcher is a full-time, remote role responsible for analyzing and evaluating carbon credit projects and their underlying financial and environmental data. Day-to-day tasks include reviewing project documentation, assessing financial performance, and examining emissions reduction claims to ensure they meet high-quality, verifiable standards. The role involves preparing clear, data-driven reports on carbon abatement projects, monitoring market trends in carbon credits and climate finance, and supporting the development of methodologies for project selection and impact tracking. The researcher will collaborate with product, finance, and sustainability teams to align project evaluations with ClimateCard.xyz’s mission and ensure accurate representation of climate impact to users and partners.

Qualifications
- Candidates should possess strong Finance and Analytical Skills to assess carbon markets, project viability, and climate-related investments.
- Candidates should possess expertise in Financial Planning and Financial Reporting to forecast project performance and communicate impact metrics clearly.
- Candidates should possess the ability to interpret and analyze Financial Statements to evaluate the health and transparency of carbon abatement projects.
- Relevant qualifications such as a degree in finance, economics, sustainability, environmental science, or a related field are beneficial.
- Familiarity with carbon markets, climate policy, ESG frameworks, or impact investing is preferred.
- Strong written communication skills, attention to detail, and comfort working with data and spreadsheets are important.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment and collaborate effectively across distributed teams is essential.
