Tendering & Proposals Manager - Renewable Energy
Our client is a fast-growing clean energy business delivering high-quality commercial solar PV and energy solutions across the UK. Its mission is to support the clean energy transition for businesses by providing technically robust, economically sustainable and environmentally responsible energy infrastructure.
Services span the full project lifecycle, including feasibility, design,construction, and ongoingoperation and maintenance. The company delivers commercial rooftop, carport and ground-mounted solar PV systems, alongside battery storage and associated technologies.
Role Overview
Due to continued growth, the companyis seeking a BusinessDevelopment Manager to drive expansion across the commercial solar PV sector.
This is a market-facing, revenue-generating role responsible for identifying, developing and closing new business opportunities from initial engagement through to contractaward. The successful candidate will act as a commercial ambassador for the business, leading client conversations, qualifying opportunities, positioning tailored solar solutions and securing contract wins aligned with strategic growth objectives. The role carries ownership of both pipeline creation and deal closure.
Responsibilities
- New Business Acquisition: Proactively identify, research and engage potential customers, sectors and routes to market
- Lead Generation & Qualification: Build and maintain a strong early-stage sales pipeline through networking, outreach, referrals and industry events
- Consultative Sales: Lead customerdiscussions to understand requirements and align them with tailored solar PV and energy solutions
- End-to-End Opportunity Management: Manage opportunities from firstcontact through proposal development, negotiation and contract execution
- Commercial Engagement: Prepare and present proposals and business cases,lead client meetings and manage commercial negotiations
- Market Intelligence: Maintain awareness of industry trends,financing models, competitor activity and regulatory drivers influencing customer decisions
- CRM & Reporting: Accurately record sales activity,opportunity progress and forecasts withinthe CRM system
- Internal Collaboration: Work closely with development, technical and delivery teams to ensure proposals are commercially sound and deliverable
