Associate Director - MEP & Sustainability.
Climate17 is pleased to be working with a growing UK building services and sustainability consultancy to recruit an Associate Director - MEP & Sustainability.
This is a senior, client-facing position combining MEP and sustainability expertise with business development, strategic client relationships and work winning.
Working closely with the Directors and technical leadership team, you will help shape the consultancy’s growth strategy, develop key client relationships and identify new opportunities across the built environment.
The role
You will:
- Develop and manage long-term relationships with key clients and strategic stakeholders.
- Identify and originate new business opportunities across target clients, sectors and markets.
- Engage with clients early to understand their challenges and shape commercially compelling solutions.
- Lead and support bids, fee proposals, tenders, presentations and pitches.
- Work alongside technical teams to develop integrated solutions across MEP, Sustainability, Energy, Building Performance and Heat Networks.
- Lead senior client meetings and work-winning presentations.
- Identify emerging market opportunities across decarbonisation, energy, sustainability and building performance.
- Contribute to business strategy, new service offerings, commercial strategy and pipeline development.
- Support fee, scope and appointment negotiations.
- Help develop a strong client-focused and work-winning culture across the wider consultancy.
About you
We are looking for an experienced professional from the MEP, Building Services, Sustainability, Energy or wider built environment consultancy market who can demonstrate:
- A strong track record of business development, client relationship management and/or work winning.
- Strong commercial awareness and the ability to identify and develop new opportunities.
- A good technical understanding of MEP, sustainability, energy or building performance.
- Strong knowledge of the UK construction and property market.
- The credibility to engage with technical, commercial and executive-level stakeholders.
- The ability to translate complex technical challenges into clear commercial propositions.
- Excellent communication, presentation and influencing skills.
- Experience collaborating with multidisciplinary technical teams.
Chartered Engineer, Chartered Environmentalist or an equivalent professional qualification would be advantageous, alongside existing senior client relationships and experience within a growing consultancy.
The opportunity
This is not a traditional business development position. You will have genuine influence over clients, markets, services and the future direction of the business, while remaining closely connected to its technical capabilities.
The position offers significant exposure to senior leadership, the opportunity to help shape a growing consultancy and a clear succession pathway towards Director.
