Project Engineer - Solar and BESS
Project Manager – Renewable Energy (Honolulu-based or US mainland remote with 20% travel)
A leading renewable energy boutique is seeking a Project Manager (or Project Engineer) with a strong Electrical Engineering background to lead the delivery of innovative solar, battery storage, and other clean energy infrastructure projects.
This is a fantastic opportunity to play a critical role in developing sustainable energy systems from concept to commissioning. You'll combine your technical expertise with strong project leadership to drive successful outcomes that make a measurable impact on the clean energy transition.
What You'll Do
- Lead full-cycle project execution—from site evaluation and permitting to design, procurement, construction, and commissioning.
- Manage project budgets, schedules, and scopes, ensuring timely and on-budget delivery.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams across engineering, procurement, construction, and operations.
- Monitor progress, financials, and risks through regular reporting and proactive mitigation.
- Serve as the central point of contact for clients, utilities, contractors, and permitting authorities.
- Oversee permitting, compliance documentation, inspections, and commissioning activities.
- Maintain precise project records, documentation, and as-built information.
- Drive process improvements and help shape best practices in project delivery.
What You'll Bring
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (required).
- 3+ years' experience managing or engineering renewable energy or construction projects (solar/BESS preferred).
- Strong knowledge of construction drawings, permitting, interconnection, and contracts.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel in particular).
- Exceptional organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
- Proven ability to manage multiple complex projects independently.
- Familiarity with Hawaii permitting and energy regulations is highly advantageous.
- Valid driver's license, clean record, and reliable vehicle access.
