Project Manager - Renewable Energy
Location: Remote role with significant travel, HQ based in Hamburg
Our client is a fast-growing international company within the renewable energy sector, specialising in innovative solar mounting solutions across global markets. With a strong presence in Europe and a collaborative, multicultural environment, they are committed to delivering high-quality engineering solutions that support the transition to clean energy.
We are looking for an experienced Project Manager to lead on-site activities across European solar projects. This is a hands-on role combining technical expertise, client interaction, and project coordination throughout the installation and delivery phases.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee installation of ground-mounted PV systems, including trackers, fixed tilt and carport solutions
- Manage and follow up delivery plans, timelines and coordination with clients
- Take ownership of client communication after contract award / purchase order
- Provide full construction support throughout the project execution phase
- Be present on-site across EU projects during delivery and installation phases (full or partial attendance depending on project needs)
- Act as the main interface between client and installation companies on-site
- Deliver on-site installation training to contractors and customers
- Support the installation of first prototype systems
- Perform on-site quality inspections of incoming materials and document findings
- Communicate with EU technical team and/or HQ team to find solutions for site-facing issues in order to support the customer in a best possible way
- Carry out on-site commissioning, particularly for tracker systems
- Monitor installation quality and report findings
- Identify potential risks and implement preventive actions to mitigate project issues
- Travel across Europe and the UK as required
Required Qualifications, Experience & Skills
- Degree/education in Mechanical/ Civil/ Structure Engineering or equivalent experience
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience in construction of PV ground mounting structure products (fix tilt and tracker) in Europe
- Familiar with PV ground mount structures of main competitors in the German and European market.
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills
- Fluency in German & English will be required
- Motivated, high energy, good with people and comfortable with group meetings
- Comfortable in working in a multinational environment
- Coordination skill, problem solving skills, hard-working
- Upcountry/ Overseas (China, Asia) trips may be required for training and meetings
