Founded at the University of Chicago by Dr. Michael Greenstone, former Chief Economist for President Obama’s Council of Economic Advisors, Climate Vault Solutions is guided by an independent scientific committee (the “Technology Experts Chamber”) chaired by Dr. Ernest Moniz, former U.S. Secretary of Energy. The Technology Experts Chamber is composed of subject-matter experts with diverse experience across academia, government, and the private sector who set the rigorous standards by which Climate Vault Solutions evaluates and selects carbon dioxide removal (CDR) and super pollutant mitigation (SPM) projects to join its portfolio and meet our clients’ needs for high-integrity climate action.


Building on our success, we are growing our team with the addition of a Sales Development Representative to help expand our market presence and achieve our aggressive 2026 business development and impact goals.


Role Overview

We are looking for a Climate Partnerships Associate to assist in opening new market opportunities and to engage organizations pursuing net-zero and emission reduction goals. The role will be responsible for prospecting and outreach to generate new qualified opportunities for Climate Vault Solution’s commercial pipeline. The role will also assist in identifying events and conferences with strong business development potential for the team to attend. The Climate Partnerships Associate will assist in all aspects of the process including setting up initial meetings, engaging in in-person events, and more.


This is a remote work position and will be part of the commercial team, but will work closely with marketing, operations, and leadership to drive sales and support the Climate Vault mission. This role is ideal for someone early in their career, wanting an opportunity for growth, and to be part of a distinguished organization making a positive impact in the fight against climate change.


Responsibilities

  • Conduct targeted outbound outreach via email, phone, social media, and in-person events to identify and qualify new business opportunities
  • Qualify leads from inbound or outbound marketing campaigns
  • Generate 10-15 new qualified business opportunities per month
  • Maintain accurate, up-to-date activity records in CRM to ensure clean handoffs to the development lead
  • Use tools like Salesforce, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, and Apollo to manage outreach and cadence sequences
  • Identify and coordinate attendance at industry events/conferences that have strong business development potential.
  • Stay current with the market and regulatory developments in the areas of climate change, carbon markets, and corporate sustainability
  • Stay current with the competitive landscape, new competitor entrants, market changes, and how to best position Climate Vault Solutions clearly and accurately


Requirements

  • 1+ years of experience in a sales, business development, customer success, or similar role
  • A working understanding of climate change and carbon markets or corporate sustainability, and a demonstrated interest in learning more.
  • Demonstrated ability to use AI tools to improve efficiency, automate workflows, or support research and outreach
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently without close oversight, but also function as a team player who will take initiative, and manage multiple tasks and projects concurrently
  • Experience with Salesforce or other CRMs to manage pipelines
  • Ability to adapt and be successful in a fluid, fast-paced environment
  • Bachelor's degree in science, sustainability, business, or economics preferred.
  • Environmental science, policy background is a plus, but not required
