Position Overview


The Climate Solutions Fund (CSF) is seeking a Director of Partnerships to join its emerging development team. Founded in 2021, CSF is dedicated to unlocking bipartisan support for common-sense energy and environmental policy solutions in the United States.


CSF’s goal is to educate, engage, and mobilize an array of constituencies to build the mandate needed for lawmakers to lead on needed climate, energy, and environmental policies, both for the short- and medium-term, and critically, for the long-term. 


The Director of Partnerships will be responsible for driving fundraising efforts, cultivating donor relationships, and supporting administrative functions.


In addition to donor engagement, this individual will serve as a connector between the organization and its external stakeholders and partner organizations, playing a vital role in securing the financial resources and relationship capital to fulfill our mission. 


This position will be reporting to the Managing Director, a seasoned fundraising professional with 10+ years of experience in the field. The Director of Partnerships will have the opportunity to work directly alongside the Managing Director to grow and advance professionally on an emerging team. 


Reports To: Managing Director 

Salary Range: $80,000– $100,000 annually

Location: Remote, with occasional travel required


Key Responsibilities


Fundraising & Development

  • Identify, research, and cultivate prospective donors, corporate partners, and grant-making foundations through strategic prospect research and lead generation
  • Develop and manage a portfolio of donors and prospects, moving individuals and organizations through the donor pipeline using moves management
  • Draft compelling funding proposals, grant applications, sponsorship decks, and donor correspondence that effectively communicate the organization's impact and funding needs
  • Assist in planning and executing fundraising campaigns, events, and special initiatives


External Affairs & Relationship Management

  • Serve as an external representative for the organization, representing its mission and values in meetings, stakeholder events, and conferences.
  • Build and maintain strong, trust-based relationships with donors, stakeholders, corporate sponsors, and foundation representatives
  • Collaborate with leadership and program staff to develop partnership opportunities that align with organizational priorities
  • Respond to donor and partner inquiries in a timely, professional, and personable manner


Communications & Persuasive Writing

  • Produce high-quality written content, including donor appeals, impact reports, newsletters, grant applications partnership briefs, and stewardship communications
  • Assist in developing external-facing messaging that is consistent with the organization's brand, tone, and strategic goals
  • Support the creation of presentations and materials for donor meetings and stakeholder engagements


Project & Database Management

  • Manage and maintain the organization's donor database (CRM), ensuring accurate and up-to-date records of donor activity, communications, and giving history
  • Track and report on fundraising metrics, pipeline status, and outreach activity for leadership review
  • Support administrative functions, including scheduling, grant tracking, gift processing, and acknowledgment letters
  • Coordinate with CSF’s finance functions to ensure consistency in development and financial record-keeping
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring deadlines are met and deliverables are completed with a high degree of quality


Qualifications


Required

  • Three years or more of experience in nonprofit development, fundraising, external affairs, or a related field
  • Demonstrated experience with prospect research and donor cultivation
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to prioritize and manage competing deadlines
  • Proficiency in donor database management (experience with Salesforce, Raiser’s Edge, or similar CRM preferred)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including persuasive writing for fundraising and external audiences
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a collaborative, professional, and relationship-first approach
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and/or Google Workspace
  • History of successful solicitation and ongoing management of relationships with family foundations and other grant-making institutions. 


Preferred

  • Familiarity with grant research tools such as Candid/GuideStar or Foundation Directory Online
  • Experience with email marketing platforms (Mailchimp, Constant Contact, etc.) 
  • Knowledge of Moves Management fundraising tactics.
  • Demonstrated passion for bipartisan climate policy, environmental stewardship, and/or energy issues.
