About the Lab

The Global Innovation Lab for Climate Finance (The Lab) is a public-private initiative that identifies, develops, and launches cutting-edge climate finance instruments. Since launching in 2014, The Lab has launched 49 innovative financial instruments that have collectively mobilized more than USD 2.5 billion in investment.

Over the years the Lab has launched three regional programs—India, Brazil and Southern Africa—to focus on these specific geographies’ potential to scale-up private sector investment in renewable energy, energy efficiency, climate adaptation, and/or sustainable land-use of climate finance related products.
