Invitation
Climate Outreach and Pledgeball are seeking an experienced monitoring and evaluation (M&E) consultant or small organisation to join us as a learning partner for Gamechanging Futures — a three-year initiative helping grassroots sports clubs become centres for local climate action.
The goal of this contract is to help the partners set up the evaluation process. This is a small, hands-on contract suited to someone who enjoys making evaluation practical and meaningful. We’re looking for a collaborator who can design a simple system our team and club partners can confidently use, and who will stay involved to help interpret results and shape the final impact report.
Purpose of the role
The Monitoring and Evaluation Partner will work closely with Climate Outreach and Pledgeball to:
- Design a practical Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning (MEAL) framework aligned with the project’s aims.
- Develop straightforward tools and templates for internal data collection.
- Train staff and club partners to gather and interpret data.
- Provide light, ongoing guidance over the three-year project to ensure consistency and quality.
- Help analyse findings and co-author the final impact report in Year 3.
What we're looking for
We’re keen to hear from evaluators with experience in community-based, communication, or behaviour-change projects — ideally those who can translate complex information into practical learning.
Essential experience:
- Designing and supporting M&E or MEAL frameworks for community-orientated initiatives, communication programmes, and/or behaviour-change interventions.
- Proven ability to combine qualitative and quantitative methods (e.g. surveys, interviews, focus groups, observation).
- Confidence in working with non-specialist teams and volunteers, building simple systems that last.
- Clear, engaging writing and data-visualisation skills.
- Collaborative and adaptable approach.
Desirable experience:
- Working on sport-related, environmental, or climate-engagement projects.
