About the Role
We are seeking a dynamic and proactive Associate – Business Consultant to support our ongoing initiatives in Sri Lanka, particularly for our Investment Readiness Project and Startup ecosystem building. This role is ideal for someone passionate about startup ecosystems, business development, and impact-driven consulting.
Key Responsibilities
Project Coordination & Business Development
- Serve as the in-country point of contact for project coordination.
- Lead generation, scoping meetings, and implementation of new projects.
- Coordinate in-country business development activities.
- Build relationships with angel and institutional investors.
- Participate in startup and investor-focused events to foster collaboration.
- Connect with local ecosystem partners to strengthen project outreach.
Startup Support & Field Engagement
- Conduct field visits to startups and assist in development planning.
- Support startups in formulating mentoring, training, and development plans.
- Review startup documentation including business plans and strategic roadmaps.
Research & Reporting
- Create detailed startup case studies focused on the Sri Lankan ecosystem.
- Assist in managing project trackers and contribute to periodic reports.
- Prepare bimonthly reports, training reports, and other documentation as required.
Qualifications
- A bachelor's or master's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Environmental Studies, Business Studies, Accounting or related area).
- Candidates with prior experience in Climate tech will be preferred
- 5-7 years of professional experience in program management, community building, or partnerships ideally in the development, climate, or entrepreneurship sectors
Additional Requirements:
- Strong understanding of the Sri Lankan startup ecosystem.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Proficiency in documentation and report writing.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills
