The Climate Bonds Initiative (Climate Bonds) is an international investor-focused not-for-profit organisation working to mobilise global capital for climate change solutions.
The Climate Bonds and partners will, over a two-year period, increase credible methane abatement action in line with 1.5°C scenarios by facilitating finance flows to activities and entities that are cutting methane emissions in key sectors. The project will develop tools and frameworks for stakeholders to design and execute their 1.5°C transition plans that frontload methane abatement. The project will work closely with stakeholders from government, corporate and financial sectors to build their understanding of and ability to utilise transition plans for methane abatement. The work will be delivered by teams on the ground in Asia, Europe and South America with support and outreach to key stakeholders in Africa.
Purpose:
Working closely with the Project Manager and PMO team, this role will ensure the effective project coordination and delivery of a multi-year, high value/complex project, to ensure it runs on time, on budget and is of quality via contributions from internal team outside your direct management line and, from 3rd party sub-contracted partnerships.
You will be responsible for supporting the day-to-day coordination of start-up, implementation, and closure of the project. The post holder will be the go-to person on all project administration, and provide critical support to the Project Manager in overseeing the project governance and decision-making processes
Duties and responsibilities:
- Supporting the Project Manager with day to day management of the project workplan, including scope, objectives, timelines, and resource requirements in partnership with resource managers and domain experts.
- Supporting management of the budget including forecasting, tracking and adjusting
- Draft and submit financial reports to Finance team and donor as part of the project reporting processes
- Oversee the coordination of project procurement, working closely with team and relevant procurement needs.
- Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation, plans, reports, meetings notes, and deliverables
- Manage all multi team project workflows and processes.
- Identifies monitors and escalates budget and project-related risks and issues to the Project Manager in a timely and appropriate manner.
- Maintain and update the project Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL) framework. s and track progress against indicators
- Coordinate with internal teams to collect quantitative and qualitative data, ensuring delivery teams use the appropriate monitoring tools, and support data quality assurance.
- Facilitate learning and reflection practices including running learning workshops and reflection sessions
- Supports the Project Manager on project governance and oversight including reporting to the project committee and donor.
- Prepare presentation slide deck for donor quarterly updates ensuring MEL compliance with donor requirements, build executive-ready decks that distil project outcomes into crisp visuals and key messages for varied audiences.
- Ensure compliance with internal policies, procedures, and funder requirements throughout the project lifecycle.

Requirements
Essential:
- Experience of project coordination and budget management of complex, large scale multi partner and multi-year projects.
- Good understanding of Microsoft Excel.
- Proven track record of project coordination and budget management, staff costs and direct expenses tracking
- Demonstratable understanding of risk management cycle particularly budget related risks.
- Demonstrable understanding of project Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL)
- Solid organisational, multitasking and time-management skills.
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
- Ability to effectively engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Demonstrate confidence and assertiveness.
- Strong critical, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
- Keen attention to detail and the ability to prioritise.
- Demonstrate ability to work with minimal supervision and managing own workload.
- Ability to demonstrate competencies in accordance with relevant level of Climate Bonds Career and Competency framework
Desirable:
- PMO, PRINCE2 or an equivalent certification
- Experience in using project management software and tools such as Microsoft, ClickUp, Monday.com, Asana
