Head of Events - Maternity cover
Start date: June 2022
Term: 12 month fixed term contract
Reporting to: Executive Director
Salary: £53-57,000 (DOE)
An opportunity exists for an accomplished Head of Events to join us on an interim basis to cover a period of maternity leave. We are ideally looking for someone who is able to start in June and commit for a 12 month period. The Head of Events is expected to bring knowledge and insight into the latest event trends and innovations, alongside recommendations on how these factors could impact or improve the events programme. The Head of Events will be developing and managing the Events team and overseeing the delivery of events activities across Climate Bonds.
Reporting to the Executive Director, you'll be is responsible for leading the planning and execution of Climate Bonds’ events, continually striving to maximise quality and performance. The role consists of creating opportunities for partners and sponsors to engage with Climate Bonds events and maintaining key relationships with potential supporters and the audience. You will lead a small team to deliver our varied portfolio of events which include a mix of in-person, hybrid, and online formats, including a regular webinar programme.
You will be responsible for communicating with several high-profile stakeholders, including Sponsors, Partners, Speakers, temporary teams, suppliers, and team members, whilst maintaining a high level of client and team satisfaction as you continually raise the profile of the Climate Bonds Initiative.

You will have strong experience across event conception and management with a proven ability to develop and deliver an impactful global programme of events.

  • Can demonstrate strong experience in creating and designing event programmes, including event themes, messaging, branding and content
  • Are an innovative and creative thinker with the ability to come up with solutions and overcome obstacles
  • Have previous experience with fundraising/sponsorship deals
  • Are able to showcase previous experience of managing virtual, live and hybrid events
  • Are interested in Climate finance and can demonstrate a reasonable understanding of the sector
