Job Description

Preform various electrical and engineering practices to complete daily tasks. Technician will provide individual product testing and component integration into a complete system. Knowledgeable and physically capable of complete testing and final assembly of an electrical system designed for Low voltage DC powered energy storage and LED lighting systems. Proficient in electrical troubleshooting devices and systems. Identify faults and correct within failed systems. Candidate must be able to identify and recommend alternative solutions for failed components. Produce and maintain well-functioning electrical systems to minimize failures and maximize reliability of products long term. This role also includes quarterly bonuses based on performance in addition to annual salary.


Responsibilities:

  • Procure materials, monitor/track costs to determine product and time efficiency improvements, improve lead times, prepare work orders and maintain inventory levels
  • Analyze and execute improvement measures to come within budget while striving for additional cost savings and improve waste reductions.
  • Connect wiring in electrical circuits and networks ensuring compatibility of components.
  • Apply lean manufacturing principles to daily tasks.
  • Prepare, assemble, wire and connect low voltage components.
  • Provide technical support for installation and project commissioning, perform system troubleshooting to diagnose problems, determine appropriate resolution and implement corrective action.
  • Perform on-site installation and commissioning activities at customer site locations as needed.
  • Evaluate engineering drawings, technical manuals, Preliminary Engineering Change Proposal (PECPs), Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs) and other technical documentation.
  • Test, adjust, and troubleshoot components, PCBs, sub-assemblies.
  • Load, modify and update software. Utilize 3rd party schematics, blueprints, RFP’s, manuals for installation, maintenance records for repair of equipment.
  • Integration, hardware/software testing, maintenance, documentation, system troubleshooting and repair services.
  • Ensure quality of cable harnesses and subsystem component assemblies.
  • QC all assembles of all electrical, electronic, and mechanical parts/equipment are in accordance to drawings and schematic diagrams.
  • Utilize test equipment to preform daily tasks.
  • Knowledge of standard electronic and communication interfaces, such as USB, RS-232, RS-422 and Ethernet, a plus.
  • Evaluate final product’s overall performance, reliability and safety prior to shipping to customers.
  • Prepare final product reports after commissioning.
  • Continuous customer service after installation, process warranty claims.


Requirements:

  • Proven working experience in enterprise as a technical engineer.
  • Experience in industrial and/or commercial electrical systems.
  • Demonstrable ability to use electrical and hand tools (e.g. wire strippers, voltmeter etc.) and electrical drawings and blueprints.
  • Strong problem-solving skills.
  • Execute within project timelines
  • Excellent client-facing skills.
  • Ability to communicate technical knowledge in a clear and understandable manner.
  • Technical writing skills.
  • Hands-on experience with computer-aided engineering (CAE), computer aided manufacturing (CAM) and computer aided design (CAD).
  • Use of advanced MS Office programs a must.
  • Familiarity with rules, regulations, best practices and performance standards.
  • Ability to work with multiple discipline projects.
  • Project management and supervision skills.
  • Decision making ability and leadership skills.
  • Time management and organization skills.
  • College degree preferred, but not required.
  • Ability to lift 50-150 lbs.
  • Some travel required.
