Position Overview

MUST HAVE BESS EXPERIENCE

We are seeking a dynamic leader to provide technical and commercial expertise for utility-scale solar PV, battery energy storage systems (BESS), and hybrid PV+BESS projects. This role bridges engineering, financial analysis, vendor management, and stakeholder engagement to ensure projects are designed, procured, and delivered with both technical rigor and commercial value.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead technical and commercial decision-making for PV, BESS, and hybrid projects, balancing system performance with financial outcomes.
  • Develop and maintain CAPEX/OPEX models for PV and storage scopes, documenting assumptions, sensitivities, and risk margins.
  • Build and manage financial models (LCOS, NPV, IRR, payback, sensitivity/scenario analysis) to evaluate technologies and configurations.
  • Prepare vendor bid packages, scorecards, and evaluations for PV (modules, inverters, trackers, BOS) and BESS (cells, racks, PCS/inverters, BMS, thermal systems).
  • Design and optimize hybrid architectures (AC- and DC-coupled), accounting for inverter clipping, curtailment, interconnection, and control strategies.
  • Convert PV performance data (generation, losses, degradation) into inputs for BESS sizing, dispatch optimization, and revenue forecasting.
  • Quantify and commercialize revenue streams (arbitrage, capacity, ancillary services, reserves, curtailment mitigation, T&D deferral) and recommend optimal value stacking.
  • Lead technical and commercial discussions with offtakers, landowners, and permitting authorities , producing agendas, decision logs, and follow-up materials.
  • Act as the primary technical-commercial liaison in stakeholder negotiations, translating performance and risk into contract terms, PPAs, and mitigation strategies.
  • Facilitate site meetings, hearings, and permitting consultations , presenting clear summaries of impacts, mitigations, and community benefits.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams (development, legal, engineering, construction, environmental, commercial) to ensure commitments are actionable and reflected in contracts.
  • Monitor market, technology, and regulatory trends in PV and storage, recommending emerging solutions or risk mitigations.
  • Deliver concise reports and presentations that outline tradeoffs, recommended solutions, and financial impacts for both internal and external stakeholders.
