What You’ll Be Doing


Are you someone with strong organizational skills who enjoys problem solving and supporting the day-to-day initiatives of a team? Clean Foundation is looking for a Community Climate Team Lead to join our organization.


As a Team Lead in the Community Climate Initiatives Department, you will provide leadership, coordination, and supervision to a team delivering hands-on climate initiatives in partnership with municipalities across Nova Scotia.


The Community Climate Initiatives team works directly with communities to build local capacity for climate action, supporting adaptation, mitigation, and resilience efforts at the municipal and regional level. This includes working alongside community partners to advance planning, delivery engagement activities, support funding applications, and implement practical, on-the-ground solutions.


As a Team Lead, you will oversee a team of Community Navigators who are embedded in this work, acting as key partners to municipalities and supporting the day-to-day delivery of community-based climate initiatives.


If you are comfortable supporting staff, overseeing workflows, and delivering program activities and are keen to advance local climate action this role may be right for you. Your support will include working closely with the Community Climate Initiatives Manager to assist with operational alignment while individually contributing directly to program delivery. You will also work hard to address day-to-day challenges for your team by providing people leadership and delivery oversight.


Job Requirements

We are looking for someone with demonstrated experience coordinating work and supervising team members.


You are a great fit if you have:


Post-secondary education in a relevant field (e.g., public administration, environmental studies, business, sustainability) or equivalent combination of education and experience.

3–5+ years of experience in program delivery, community-based work, or a related field.

• Strong organizational and coordination skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.

• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

• Demonstrable understanding and application of the principles of sustainability, climate change adaptation, mitigation, and community resilience.

• Ability to provide constructive feedback, coaching, and support to team members.

• Ability to balance individual contribution with team leadership responsibilities.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and related tools.

• Valid driver’s license.

Experience working with municipalities or within government systems, with a strong understanding of municipal structures, processes, and decision making environments.


Job Responsibilities


In this role you will act as the Team Supervisor overseeing team workflows, supporting

staff performance and development, and addressing day-to-day delivery challenges.

You will be responsible for the following:


• Provide coaching, feedback, and support to team members to strengthen

performance and capability.

• Support onboarding and training of new staff.

• Foster a positive, accountable and collaborative team environment

• Translate program plans and direction from the Manager into actionable tasks and day-to-day delivery for the team.

• Coordinate team activities to ensure work is progressing effectively and alignedwith timelines and priorities.

• Monitor team workload, capacity, and task distribution to ensure efficient and sustainable delivery.

• Track progress of deliverables to ensure quality, consistency and completeness.

• Address day-to-day delivery issues and escalate more complex concerns to the Manager as required.

• Provide updates to the Manager on team activities, progress, risks, and emerging issues.

• Escalate risks, capacity issues, or delivery concerns to the Manager with context and recommendations.

• Hands on delivery program activities, including community engagement, meetings, workshops, or program-related activities as required.

• Apply practical, on-the-ground insights to continuously improve program effectiveness.

• Maintain effective working relationships with municipalities, partners and stakeholders.

• Represent the organization professionally in external interactions.

• Support tracking, documentation and reporting of team activities.

• Identify opportunities to improve workflows, tools, and team coordination.

Job Benefits


$60,000-$70,000

A successful candidate’s starting salary will be determined based on various factors

such as skills, experience, training, and credentials, as well as other business purposes
