What you’ll be doing


We’re looking for Bilingual Environmental Educator to join our Education & Engagement Team at Clean Foundation.


The Education & Engagement Team develops and delivers educational initiatives to support climate awareness, environmental literacy, and community engagement across Nova Scotia. The successful candidate will be part of a team that equips learners of all ages with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to take meaningful action on climate change.


We are looking for a passionate individual who has experience educating high school age youth and young adults. You will make meaningful connections by delivering hands-on environmental education workshops, creating learning experiences for a range of community audiences.

This role offers a chance to expand your creativity by ensuring programs and curriculums are delivered in an engaging, inclusive and accessible manner. You will be presented with a wide range of classrooms to deliver Clean’s educational workshops including in-person, virtual, and outdoor learning environments. This is great opportunity to combine your passion for teaching and love for the environment to help learners explore environmental challenges and understand practical solutions related to climate change and building a sustainable future.


Job requirements


We are looking for someone who has strong facilitation and bilingual communication skills with the ability to engage learners in inclusive and accessible ways.

You are a great fit if you have:


  • Post-secondary education in a relevant field (e.g., environmental science, sustainability, education, natural sciences, or related discipline), or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Bilingual in French and English.
  • 1–3 years of experience delivering educational programming, group facilitation, or youth engagement activities (preferably in high-school or adult education).
  • Familiarity with mentoring and supporting youth as they consider future career opportunities.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities including but not limited to building and maintaining relationships with teachers, coordinating bookings, and maintaining knowledge of current environmental science research.
  • Proficiency in standard office software and virtual engagement tools.
  • Interest in outdoor learning, environmental education, climate change, and sustainability.
  • First Aid certification or willingness to obtain.
  • Successful completion of backcheck and vulnerable sector check upon hire.
  • Valid driver's license and the ability to drive to partner and event locations.


Job responsibilities


The successful candidate will be delivering engaging, hands-on environmental education workshops and learning experiences for youth, adults, and community audiences.


You will also:


  • Research, develop, and deliver learning opportunities that support environmental literacy and climate awareness.
  • Use creativity and modern approaches to adapt program delivery to meet the needs of diverse learners, age groups, and learning environments.
  • Coordinate with internal team members to schedule and deliver educational programming.
  • Collaborate with other educators and maintain clear and professional communication while building and maintaining relationships with schools, educators, and community partners.
  • Support program evaluation data and identify opportunities to improve overall program delivery approaches, materials, and engagement.
  • Support the preparation and organization of program materials and learning resources.
  • Support the review and improvement of educational resources to ensure scientific accuracy and alignment with learning objectives.
  • Maintain familiarity with relevant educational frameworks and learning approaches to support effective program delivery and development.

A successful candidate’s starting salary will be determined based on various factors such as skills, experience, training, and credentials, as well as other business purposes or needs.


Full-time term contract


Start: October 1, 2026

End: August 31, 2027 (with the possibility of extension)
