Caring for our city, creating a future for all

Our people are passionate about their communities and connected to their teams. They’re motivated by our genuine commitment to diversity and inclusion, and our clear, compelling plan for our global city: Sustainable Sydney 2030 – 2050 Continuing the Vision.

Be part of a purpose-led organisation with care at its core. You’ll make a difference by acting in the best interests of our communities and city. Be better together with collaborative and inclusive partnerships. Embrace possibilities and be open to new ideas and creating bold solutions.

About The Role

The City of Sydney's Sustainable Sydney 2030-2050 vision is for a sustainable future where everyone does their part to respond to the climate emergency. The Sustainable & Resilient City team (formerly the Sustainability Programs Unit) helps deliver this vision and the City's Environmental, Resilience and Waste & Circular Materials Strategies. By engaging business and communities through programs, partnerships, grants and advocacy, we support the transition to a more sustainable and resilient Sydney.

This is an exciting time for the team as we refresh our roles to align with the evolution of our programs and partnerships. We're looking for exceptional candidates that are keen to innovate, scale transformational outcomes and accelerate progress to our ambitious targets.

This position supports and enables sustainability and resilience outcomes across the strata sector, helping apartment communities improve environmental performance, reduce emissions and strengthen resilience to climate change.

We are looking for an experienced person to lead the development and delivery of our strata sustainability program, working with residents, committees and partners to scale positive outcomes across apartment buildings. The role will focus on providing practical guidance to support communities, while collaborating internally and externally to deliver impactful projects, services and resources. This role requires engagement outside of standard business hours due to the nature of AGMs and opportunities for face-to-face meet ups.
