Position Summary
The Portland Clean Energy Community Benefits Fund (PCEF) in the Bureau of Planning and Sustainability (BPS) is seeking a Transportation Decarbonization Project (Coordinator II - CPPW) to support the implementation of PCEF-funded transportation decarbonization grants, contracts, and strategic programs that reduce greenhouse gas emissions, improve mobility, and advance social, economic, and environmental justice.
PCEF is investing more than $200 million annually in climate action and climate justice. Funding areas include clean energy, transportation decarbonization, green infrastructure, regenerative agriculture, and workforce and contractor development. This position will be part of the team responsible for turning those investments into successful, accountable, community-centered projects and programs.
Transportation decarbonization work at PCEF is broad and may include active transportation, bike and pedestrian infrastructure, complete streets implementation, mode shift initiatives, e-bike and e-scooter access, shared micromobility, electric vehicle conversion, EV charging infrastructure, multi-modal planning, transportation access and mobility improvements, and other strategies that reduce greenhouse gas emissions from Portland’s transportation system.
Many PCEF grantees and contractors come from communities that have historically had limited access to climate-sector funding, public decision-making processes, and transportation infrastructure investments. This role requires strong project management, relationship building, communication, and problem-solving skills to help grantees and contractors succeed while ensuring public funds are stewarded for maximum climate and community benefit.
