As a Waste Recycling Operator, you'll play an important role in supporting waste reduction and resource recovery by assisting residents, maintaining safe operations and promoting recycling across our Waste and Recycling Centres.

About The Team

The Waste Resource and Recovery branch is committed to providing efficient waste management services while promoting sustainability and environmental responsibility. Our teams work closely with the community to improve recycling outcomes and deliver safe, welcoming facilities for residents and visitors.

About The Role

As a Waste Recycling Operator, you'll support the day-to-day operation of a Waste and Recycling Centre, helping customers navigate the site safely and encouraging recycling practices. You'll contribute to maintaining a clean, organised and hazard-free environment while delivering excellent customer service. This role operates on a 4 days on, 3 days off roster, with weekend work required as part of normal operations, making flexibility and reliability essential.

Key Responsibilities Include

  • Directing and controlling traffic within the facility
  • Assisting customers with waste disposal and recycling enquiries
  • Maintaining site cleanliness, grounds and facilities
  • Supporting a safe workplace by following procedures and safe work instructions
  • Providing friendly, professional customer service to a diverse range of stakeholders
  • Contributing to continuous improvement initiatives and team goals.

Mandatory Requirements

  • Certificate II in Asset Management (Waste Management) or equivalent knowledge
  • Unrestricted C Class Driver Licence
  • Construction White Card (General Construction Induction).
