Sustainability Coordinator

Coordinates projects related to the City's sustainability and climate resilience programs, including ordinance revisions, plan development, and implementation of sustainability and resilience programs.Essential functions are the basic job duties that an employee must be able to perform, with or without reasonable accommodation. - Leads development and implementation of sustainability and climate resilience related ordinances, plans and policies
- Manages projects and programs; monitors information; prepares reports on progress
- Analyzes complex issues; presents findings and recommendations
- Tracks specific performance metrics related to the City's strategic plan and other sustainability and resiliency efforts
- Supports inclusion of sustainability and climate resilience in the City and County Comprehensive Plans and other City, local and regional climate plans.
- Acts as City point of contact for participation and collaboration with several external organizations
- Studies and makes recommendations for programmatic improvements and revisions
- Provides outreach to internal/external stakeholders on sustainability and resilience programs
- Provides information and assistance to City officials and management, other governmental agencies, and the general public
- Performs related work as required
- Bachelor's Degree in Sustainability, Environmental Science, Public Administration, Urban Planning, or related area of study
- Three (3) to five (5) years of developing and implementing sustainability and resilience related ordinances, plans and policies or related experience. Additional qualifying experience or completion of coursework at an accredited college or university in a job-related field, may substitute on a year-for-year basis for the required experience or education.
