About The Role
The Senior Sustainability Projects Officer role will play a key role in delivering the City of Boroondara’s Climate Action Plan, including our target to reduce community greenhouse emissions by 60% by 2030.
Working within the Climate Action and Sustainability team, it’ll be involved in the thinking on and the delivery of innovative capital projects that enhance the sustainability of our Council building portfolios and provide opportunities for community emission reductions. From renewable energy and electrification to integrated water management and EV infrastructure, the work will support meaningful environmental outcomes for our community.
Key Responsibilities
This role will oversee a range of sustainability initiatives, providing expert advice and guidance across Council. It will develop and implement strategies relating to community energy and water use, support the integration of ESD principles in Council facilities and collaborate with staff, consultants and contractors to deliver high-quality projects.
Your strong analytical skills will support data collection, monitoring and reporting to inform decision-making and continuous improvement.
About You
You bring formal qualifications in environmental management, sustainability or a related field, along with experience in climate change mitigation, energy efficiency or sustainable development. Your project management skills help you plan, prioritise and deliver initiatives on time and within budget.
A confident communicator, you can translate technical concepts into clear and engaging messages for a wide range of audiences. You enjoy working collaboratively, building relationships and influencing positive change. Demonstrated experience with sustainable project management, strategy development and quality teamwork will set you up for success in this role.
