About Boroondara

At Boroondara, we’re not just talking about climate action — we’re doing it. And to show we mean business, we’ve created a new, dedicated Climate Action and Sustainability department to drive meaningful change and deliver on the commitments outlined in our Climate Action Plan.

We’ve set ambitious targets, backed by thoughtful planning, smart design, and genuine community collaboration. Now, we’re looking for a passionate, skilled Coordinator Circular Economy to join our growing team and help turn our plans into real, measurable outcomes for the community.

If you’re ready to use your knowledge and expertise to make a lasting impact - on our neighbourhoods, our city, and our planet - we’d love you to join our growing team.

About The Role

The Coordinator Circular Economy will lead the delivery of the Circular Economy Strategy. You will oversee a small team, collaborating with internal and external stakeholders to drive sustainable waste and resource recovery solutions.

In this role, you’ll help shape the future of circular economy practices, ensuring innovative, cost-effective, and sustainable outcomes for the community.

Key Responsibilities

You will lead your team to implement the Circular Economy Strategy, manage related projects, and oversee budgets. A core part of your role is providing strategic advice and direction on waste management and sustainability, while working closely with the waste operations teams.

Your leadership will involve advocating for circular economy practices across Council, managing performance plans, and driving improvements in service delivery. You’ll also ensure clear communication and timely reporting on progress, while fostering collaboration and accountability within the team.

About You

We are looking for a leader with a strong passion for sustainability and a proven track record in circular economy or waste management. You’ll bring excellent project management, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills, along with experience in local or state government.

Your ability to lead teams, solve complex problems, and develop innovative solutions will be key to your success in this role.
