Role Overview

The Manager – Sustainability will provide strategic leadership and governance oversight for the Company’s sustainability initiatives. The role will ensure alignment with corporate strategy, regulatory requirements and global ESG best practices, while delivering measurable environmental and social impact across the organization.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic leadership for CDB’s sustainability agenda, ensuring integration of ESG considerations into corporate strategy, risk management and operational decision-making
  • Lead the implementation of the Net Zero Transition Framework in collaboration with international partners, including the adoption and integration of Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi)
  • Coordinate and monitor Net Zero pillar projects and sustainability initiatives across the organization, working with cross-functional teams to deliver measurable outcomes
  • Develop and implement sustainability policies and governance frameworks, including ESG, ESMS and Sustainable Purchasing policies aligned with global best practices
  • Lead the preparation of Annual and Sustainability Reports, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements and international ESG reporting standards and provide strategic updates to Senior Management and the Board
  • Engage internal and external stakeholders to strengthen partnerships and advance sustainability initiatives across the organization
  • Manage and expand CDB’s social impact initiatives, ensuring meaningful community impact and measurable outcomes
  • Manage relationships with international funding partners and development agencies, strengthening strategic collaborations to advance CDB’s sustainability initiatives


Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Sustainability, Finance, Business, Environmental Science or related field
  • Master’s or professional qualification in Sustainability/ESG will be an added advantage
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in sustainability, ESG, environmental management or related areas
  • Experience in sustainability reporting, regulatory compliance and stakeholder engagement is desirable
