Climate & Emissions Data Vice President is part of Citis Sustainability & ESG team, responsible for developing and executing Citis Sustainable Progress Strategy, net zero commitment and related initiatives. The role reports to the SVP, Sustainability & ESG, who reports to the Chief Sustainability Officer.

Job Responsibilities

  • Work with internal businesses, risk and quantitative analysis functions to manage a robust data collection, analysis and management process for financed emissions and climaterelated metrics aligned with leading portfolio measurement frameworks and regulatory requirements.
  • Lead internal engagement and manage queries related to data and calculation methodologies for climate metrics.
  • Develop and manage project plans, timelines, tracking deliverables and coordinate with crossfunctional stakeholders across multiple projects.
  • Identify and troubleshoot issues with data or results, including validating data and models.
  • Implement solutions without constant supervision, managing time and resources efficiently.
  • Manage program documentation, including policies and procedures, with a strong focus on compliance and controls.
  • Manage external assurance processes for disclosed climaterelated metrics.
  • Support engagements with key financed emissions reporting and targetsetting framework developers to understand methodologies and stay current on emerging trends and expectations for transparency and reporting.
  • Support internal transition planning, model development, and disclosure, contributing sectorspecific decarbonization and GHG accounting subjectmatter expertise.
  • Monitor and support regional regulatory developments on climaterelated metric development to ensure alignment with global approach.
  • Contribute to the Sustainability & ESG teams work on strategy, research, analysis and data collection projects as needed.
  • Represent Citis sustainability and climatechange performance in internal and external meetings and presentations.
  • Undertake research projects and benchmarking analysis on sustainability and ESGrelated topics and themes, including facilitating outreach to Citi teams.
  • Provide summaries, evaluations and analysis on relevant policy or marketrelated sustainability developments.
  • Support efforts to drive forward Citis sustainability and climatechange strategy, including through quantitative analysis.

Requirements

  • Masters degree preferred in finance, economics, climate change, environmental science or related fields.
  • 5+ years of relevant professional experience in finance, sustainability/climate change, ESG, economics or marketsrelated roles.
  • Experience working on sustainability and climatechange issues as they impact business, and 2+ years focus on climate data and risk analytics or demonstrated knowledge of decarbonization trajectories for finance.
  • Basic knowledge of banking and finance products and terminology, including basics of financial accounting.
  • Knowledge of relevant thirdparty ESG and climate datasets and tools and portfolio alignment methods and frameworks (PCAF).
  • Awareness of climate policy and regulatory space and voluntary frameworks and initiatives, particularly related to financial institutions.
  • Excellent analytical skills: proficient in Excel modelling and comfortable analyzing large datasets and portraying and explaining complex data trends to others.
  • Ability to convey information clearly, accurately and succinctly (both written and verbally) and to craft succinct, highimpact presentations with strong attention to detail.
  • Highlydeveloped emotional intelligence and ability to influence others, including comfort in engaging senior business leaders.
  • Collaborative mindset, and ability to work with a wide range of internal partners across the bank.
