In our optimized CIP Platform, CIP Terra Technologies – a project delivery company delivering projects from onshore wind, solar PV and battery energy storage systems, to bioenergy, thermal and transmission infrastructure – is currently looking for Senior Associate, Project Development to join our office in Mumbai, India.
Team
We are a multidisciplinary team developing large-scale renewable energy projects in India, from early-stage origination through execution and offtake. Our work sits at the intersection of strategy, execution, and market engagement, delivering meaningful outcomes in a dynamic, high-responsibility environment.
Role
The selected candidate will be responsible for end‑to‑end development of renewable energy projects— from origination to pre‑construction readiness. The role requires solid commercial acumen, stakeholder management, regulatory understanding, and technical coordination to move projects through the development lifecycle.

We are seeking a motivated professional with a relevant degree and 4–6 years of experience in renewable energy project development across solar, wind, hybrid, or BESS projects, with end-to-end exposure from concept to RTB (Ready-to-Build). The ideal candidate should have a solid understanding of renewable energy regulatory frameworks, including state policies and central schemes, along with practical experience in assets due diligence, merger & acquisition, investment materials preparations and stakeholder management

Role

Responsibilities will consist of but are not limited to:
- Co-ordinate due diligence on investment opportunities, including financial, commercial, ESG, technical, sector and company-specific diligence with external advisors, consultants
- Prepare investment materials, including industry overviews, investment rationales, diligence summaries, valuation analysis and recommendations for Investment Committee and Board discussions
- Contribute to discussions on investment attractiveness, key risks, value creation potential and exit considerations
- Assist in monitoring existing portfolio companies, including performance tracking, benchmarking, financial analysis and strategic initiatives
- Build and maintain relationships with advisors, bankers, general partners, management teams and other relevant market participants
- Manage the entire project development cycle from conceptualization to Ready‑to‑Build (RTB) stage.
We are seeking a motivated professional with a relevant degree and 4–6 years of experience in renewable energy project development across solar, wind, hybrid, or BESS projects, with end-to-end exposure from concept to RTB (Ready-to-Build). The ideal candidate should have a solid understanding of renewable energy regulatory frameworks, including state policies and central schemes, along with practical experience in assets due diligence, merger & acquisition, investment materials preparations and stakeholder management
We look for the following in a candidate:
- Strong academic record with an undergraduate degree from a highly regarded institution, preferably in commerce, finance, economics, engineering, business, or a related analytical discipline
- MBA or equivalent postgraduate qualification from a top-tier business school is preferred, but not a necessary requirement
- 4-6 years of relevant work experience (renewable energy or power sector, private equity, investment banking, management consulting)
- Strong research, analytical, financial modeling, valuation, problem solving skills and ability to think creatively
- Experience working in high pace environments including supporting acquisitions, diligence and/or asset management activities
- Advanced computer/technical skills – MS Excel, MS PowerPoint
- Solid verbal and written communication skills, including proficiency in creating high-quality PowerPoint presentations
