Job Description

At CIMA+, sustainability is central to how we design infrastructure, support communities, and build resilient environments. Our Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) strategy reflects our commitment to responsible business practices, climate action, and positive social impact.

We are looking for an Sustainability Advisor - ESG (bilingual french/english) to support the implementation, monitoring, and reporting of our ESG strategy and sustainability initiatives across the organization.

Working closely with the other colleagues across organization, you will help strengthen CIMA+’s ESG performance and contribute to sustainable and responsible engineering.

We offer a hybrid work model (2 days per week in the office), providing the flexibility to work remotely from home as well as from one of our CIMA+ offices (Montréal, Laval, Québec City, Sherbrooke, Mississauga, etc.).

Your Impact

In this role, you will support ESG reporting, climate initiatives, and sustainability programs that help CIMA+ measure, manage, and improve its environmental and social performance. Your work will contribute to transparent disclosure, emissions reduction initiatives, and meaningful collaboration with stakeholders and communities.

What you'll do:

ESG Strategy and Implementation

  • Support the implementation and continuous improvement of CIMA+’s ESG strategy and action plans.
  • Contribute to initiatives led by the ESG team.
  • Help integrate ESG considerations into internal processes and business practices.

ESG Reporting and Performance Monitoring

  • Collect, validate, and analyze ESG data across the organization.
  • Contribute to the preparation of ESG reporting, including the annual ESG Report and internal dashboards for leadership.
  • Monitor progress against ESG objectives and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Benchmark ESG performance against industry peers and best practices.

Climate and Emissions Management

  • Support the development and maintenance of corporate greenhouse gas inventories, including Scope 1, Scope 2, and Scope 3 emissions.
  • Apply recognized methodologies for GHG emissions calculations and carbon accounting, aligned with the GHG Protocol.
  • Contribute to identifying GHG emissions reduction opportunities and mitigation strategies.
  • Support initiatives related to decarbonization and climate transition planning.

ESG Frameworks and Compliance

  • Support ESG disclosure aligned with recognized frameworks such as CSDS (Canadian Sustainability Disclosure Standards), ISSB (IFRS S1 and S2), GRI, SASB and the GHG Protocol.
  • Monitor emerging ESG regulations, reporting standards, and sustainability trends relevant to the engineering and consulting sector.

Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement

  • Work with teams across the organization—including HR, procurement, operations, communications and marketing—to advance ESG initiatives.
  • Support ESG-related information requests from clients and contribute to sustainability sections in proposals.
  • Contribute to internal ESG awareness and knowledge-sharing initiatives.

Indigenous Partnerships

  • Support initiatives that strengthen collaboration with Indigenous communities and partners.
  • Contribute to programs aligned with reconciliation and responsible engagement.
  • Assist with initiatives related to Indigenous partnership frameworks and certifications, including the PAIR (Progressive Aboriginal Relations) certification from the Canadian Council for Indigenous Business.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree in environmental science, engineering, sustainability, sustainable business, or a related field
  • Master’s degree in sustainability or ESG is considered an asset
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is considered an asset
  • 4–7 years of experience in ESG, sustainability, environmental management, or corporate responsibility
  • Experience supporting ESG reporting or sustainability initiatives in a corporate environment

Skills and Knowledge

  • Familiarity with ESG reporting frameworks such as CSDS, ISSB (IFRS S1/S2), GRI, SASB and the GHG Protocol
  • Familiarity with GHG emissions accounting methodologies and emissions reduction strategies
  • Experience working with ESG data management and sustainability performance indicators
  • Experience using data analysis or reporting tools (Excel, Power BI, or similar tools)
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives simultaneously
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities and tasks
  • Excellent analytical, writing, and communication skills
  • Collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Bilingualism in French and English

Assets

  • Experience in the engineering, infrastructure, or consulting sector
  • Knowledge of climate reporting, carbon accounting, or sustainability metrics
  • Experience supporting Indigenous engagement initiatives or reconciliation programs
  • Familiarity with PAIR certification or similar Indigenous partnership frameworks
  • Professional certifications such as EP (Environmental Professional), GRI Professional Certification, or other sustainability-related credentials
