The Opportunity

We're looking for an exceptional General Manager (GM) to partner closely with the CEO and leadership team to build and scale the business.


This is a broad, hands-on leadership role spanning operations, technology, product, delivery, people and commercial performance.


You'll be responsible for turning ambitious strategy into execution, introducing the systems, processes and structures needed to scale while ensuring the business remains agile, efficient and commercially focused.


Importantly, we're looking for someone who brings a forward-thinking, AI-first approach to building and scaling organisations.


We don't want to simply add headcount as the business grows. We want to build a high-performing, lean organisation where technology, automation and AI enable individuals and teams to deliver exceptional outcomes.


You'll play a critical role in shaping what that organisation looks like.


What You'll Do

Business Strategy & Execution

  • Partner with the CEO to translate company strategy into clear priorities, OKRs and measurable outcomes.
  • Build the operating rhythms, accountability and cross-functional alignment needed to execute at pace.
  • Lead business planning and operational readiness ahead of the next phase of growth and Series B.

Scaling Operations

  • Build the systems, processes and infrastructure to support growth from approximately 20 to 100 people.
  • Oversee customer delivery, asset operations, infrastructure deployment and partner networks.
  • Ensure operational excellence across a complex, technology-enabled infrastructure business.
  • Introduce scalable processes without creating unnecessary bureaucracy.

AI, Technology & Automation

  • Champion an AI-first mindset across the organisation, identifying opportunities to automate workflows and increase productivity.
  • Leverage technology and AI to build lean, high-performing teams capable of delivering more with less.
  • Work closely with product and technology teams to ensure systems and platforms support operational scale.
  • Challenge traditional organisational structures and ways of working, embracing smarter, more efficient approaches.

People & Leadership

  • Build, develop and lead a high-performing, multidisciplinary team across operations, product, technology and delivery.
  • Establish clear organisational structures, responsibilities and performance expectations.
  • Develop a culture of ownership, accountability, innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Identify critical capability gaps and make thoughtful hiring decisions aligned with business outcomes.

Commercial & Operational Performance

  • Own operational performance, budgets and key business metrics.
  • Drive efficiency, improve unit economics and support sustainable growth.
  • Manage key commercial relationships, strategic partners and operational risks.
  • Support the CEO and leadership team with investor reporting, strategic planning and Series B readiness.


About You

We're looking for a commercially minded, highly capable operator who thrives in fast-moving, high-growth environments.


You'll bring:

  • Proven scaling experience: 10+ years in operations, general management or senior leadership, ideally within a technology-enabled scaleup.
  • Builder mentality: You've helped scale businesses, built teams and introduced systems and structures from the ground up.
  • AI-first thinking: You actively embrace AI, automation and emerging technologies to improve productivity, streamline operations and rethink traditional ways of working.
  • Commercial acumen: Strong understanding of financial performance, unit economics, operational efficiency and business strategy.
  • Cross-functional leadership: Experience bringing together technology, product, operations, delivery and commercial teams around shared objectives.
  • Hands-on execution: Comfortable operating strategically while rolling up your sleeves to solve problems and get things done.
  • Technology orientation: Experience in software, technology-enabled services, hardware, infrastructure or complex operational environments.
  • Leadership capability: A track record of developing exceptional people, creating accountability and building high-performing cultures.


Experience in renewable energy, clean technology, infrastructure deployment or distributed asset networks would be highly regarded, but we're equally interested in exceptional operators from other high-growth technology businesses.
