What You Will Be Doing
As a Revenue Analyst, you will be responsible for reviewing customer contracts, ensuring revenue is recognized in compliance with ASC 606, supporting monthly/quarterly close activities, and partnering cross-functionally with Sales, Legal, and FP&A. You will also assist with audits, rebate programs, and tax considerations to maintain accuracy and compliance in reporting.
What You Will Bring to ChargePoint
- Review sales contracts and purchase orders to determine proper revenue recognition under ASC 606.
- Manage revenue arrangements in NetSuite and monitor for missing or incorrect start/end dates.
- Support monthly and quarterly revenue close, including journal entries, reconciliations, and revenue deferrals.
- Track deliverables for projects-based revenue and recognize revenue upon meeting milestones.
- Monitor SaaS, hardware, and services revenue streams, ensuring accurate allocation based on standalone selling price (SSP).
- Partner with Sales and Operations to resolve revenue coding issues (e.g., MISC SOFT codes).
- Maintain audit-ready documentation for both external auditors and internal SOX controls.
- Collaborate with FP&A on revenue forecasting, partner rebates, and sales reserves accruals.
- Assist in automation initiatives to streamline revenue reporting and compliance processes.
- Ability to navigate complex contracts and apply revenue rules.
- Experience balancing hardware and SaaS accounting treatment.
- Confidence in supporting state and government-funded projects requiring special revenue handling.
- Proactive approach to solving reconciliation issues and improving processes.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 4 years of experience in revenue accounting, ideally in SaaS, hardware, or a technology environment.
- Strong understanding of ASC 606 and revenue recognition for multiple performance obligations.
- Experience with ERP systems (NetSuite preferred), and Salesforce.
- Strong Excel skills; experience with reporting and reconciliations.
- Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Experience with audits and SOX compliance a plus.
