What You Will Be Doing
We are seeking a Revenue Accounting Manager to oversee day-to-day revenue recognition activities and support the scaling of our revenue operations across multiple product lines, regions, and sales channels. This role will ensure compliance with ASC 606, partner cross-functionally with Sales, Legal, IT, General Accounting, and FP&A, and drive operational efficiency in our revenue processes.
The ideal candidate should have strong technical knowledge of revenue accounting, proven SaaS/tech industry experience and hardware experience. This person will be hands-on with revenue operations, including operating ARM in NetSuite, and SSP analysis, while also supporting process improvements and system automation to enable growth and scalability.
What You Will Bring to ChargePoint
- Manage global revenue operations, including month-end close, reconciliations, and audit support in compliance with ASC 606.
- Prepare revenue-related schedules, manual journal entries, account reconciliations, and monthly flux analyses, ie, Standalone Selling Price analysis, hardware reclassifications in ARM, monthly flux comments for hardware and subscription.
- Prepare and assist with revenue disclosures and support SEC reporting requirements (10-Q/K).
- Review and interpret complex customer agreements to ensure proper revenue recognition treatment.
- Partner with Sales, Legal, and FP&A on deal structuring and reporting accuracy.
- Collaborate with IT and system administrators to support automation of revenue processes using NetSuite ARM or other tools.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and scalability.
- Supervise, mentor, and develop revenue accountants, providing guidance on technical issues and career growth.
- Support integration efforts for acquisitions and new product launches with revenue impact.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA strongly preferred.
- 5–7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including public accounting and in-house revenue roles.
- Strong knowledge of ASC 606 and US GAAP; SaaS or technology industry experience highly preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to analyze and apply accounting guidance to revenue arrangements.
- Hands-on experience with month-end close, reconciliations, and audit support.
- Strong skillsets on excel and power query
- Prior exposure to ERP systems and revenue automation tools (NetSuite ARM strongly preferred).
- Strong technical, analytical, and organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Effective communicator and collaborator across functions and levels of the business.
- Experience managing and developing accounting staff preferred.
