Manager, Incentive Program Strategy, Customer Solutions

What You Will Be Doing

  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders on the design and implementation of large incentive programs which seeks to enable the deployment of EVSE infrastructure projects across North America.
  • Analyze potential charging locations and forecast driver utilization levels by leveraging existing data from the ChargePoint network, understanding of the use case and business dynamics at the site, nearby charging alternatives, local/regional dynamics, traffic patterns and other geospatial information related to the site.
  • Evaluate site host properties for the proper placement of EV chargers, considering factors such as site host preferences, where electricity is distributed onto the property, how close electrical supply is to areas under consideration for EV charger installation, availability of electrical capacity to serve the project, safety, driver experience, accessibility requirements etc.
  • Engage with large, multi-site property owners and businesses to pitch electric vehicle deployment strategies that span a variety of property types and business models.
  • Coordinate budget proposals through a network of installation partners which may include site walks to guide cost effective and expedient site builds.
  • Review financial models and work with customers or potential site hosts to clearly articulate the business case or impacts of owning or hosting fast chargers at their sites.
  • Build supporting documentation and prescriptive project narratives required for successful grant applications.
  • Present and negotiate terms for site host agreements, getting to contract closure in a timely manner to meet program deadlines.
  • Work with internal legal counsel and property owners to negotiate and close site agreements.
  • Present and provide potential site hosts and customers with hosting proposals and product/project/support service materials.
  • Record and track milestones to ensure projects are completed in a timely manner
  • Coordinate and manage construction contractors. This includes cost negotiation, contract management, communication, and coordination of project activities. Scheduled weekly meetings and diligent follow-ups are required to ensure construction related activities advance at all locations
  • Coordinate and manage relationships with key contracts at partner electric utilities and grant administrators. Scheduled weekly meetings and diligent follow-ups are required to ensure projects meet milestone deadlines.
  • Provide the team with weekly updates on the pipeline in individual geographic territories.
  • This role requires at least 10% travel, mostly by car.

What You Will Bring to ChargePoint

  • You have a passion for vehicle electrification with a good knowledge of the automotive industry and electric vehicle charging dynamics
  • 5+ years' experience in sales and project management, preferably in electrical and civil infrastructure deployment on commercial properties or related infrastructure deployment
  • Proven track record of closing deals with both small business owners and large, multinational properties
  • Ability to work remotely, effectively work under tight deadlines and manage projects independently
  • A diligent reporter that takes time to document activities with a proficiency using tracking tools such as SalesForce.com and other project tracking tools
  • Proven ability to converse with and persuade stakeholders at all levels of management, including C-suite
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to dive deep into decisions to understand economic impacts and ROI as well as market and competitive implications.
  • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to understand and articulate payback models to customers

Requirements

  • 5+ years' experience in sales and program management, preferably in electrical and civil infrastructure deployment on commercial properties or related infrastructure deployment
  • B.S or M.S in Engineering, Mathematics, Marketing, or equivalent
  • Keen understanding of electrical power consumption, construction drawings, and permit packages
  • Outstanding presentation, oral, and written communications skills, and sales polish, with the ability to communicate at all levels internally and externally
  • Detailed tracking, reporting, and managing capabilities
  • Excellent project/program management skills and ability to track and manage complex customer relationship and activities at 20 – 30 sites at a time
  • Experience should include some of: electrical engineering, construction management, utility, telecommunications, information technology, software development, or technical writing

ChargePoint is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices.
The targeted US salary range for roles at this operating level is $58,500 to $138,000. This range represents base salary and does not reflect equity, benefits or variable pay where applicable. Actual base salaries are based on several factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, experience, certifications and specific work location.
