What You Will Be Doing
We are looking for a highly skilled Hardware Technical Writer with over 5+ years of experience in developing high-quality hardware documentation. The ideal candidate should have a strong background in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, excellent communication skills, and hands-on experience with MadCap Flare. You will work closely with cross-functional engineering, product, and support teams to create comprehensive documentation for hardware products and systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, write, and maintain clear, accurate, and user-friendly hardware documentation such as:
- Installation guides
- Assembly and disassembly instructions
- Technical specifications
- Maintenance and service manuals
- Regulatory and safety documentation
- Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and firmware engineering teams to gather technical information.
- Interpret complex engineering drawings, CAD models, and schematics to create accurate documentation.
- Use MadCap Flare to author, manage, and publish content in various formats (HTML5, PDF, etc.).
- Drive documentation projects from initiation to delivery, ensuring adherence to timelines and quality standards.
- Ensure all documentation complies with company standards, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of documentation processes and tools.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering.
- 5+ years of experience in hardware documentation, preferably in the electronics, energy, automotive, or manufacturing sectors.
- Proficiency in MadCap Flare for authoring and content management is a must.
- Strong understanding of hardware design principles and product life cycles.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and schematics.
- Experience working in Agile or cross-functional team environments.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience with 3D modeling tools for extracting visuals is a plus.
- Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) and content management systems.
- Exposure to localization workflows and working with translation vendors.
Work Location:
This is an on-site role based in our Bangalore office, with Hybrid working options.
