Job Title: Solar Electrician Journeyman
Reports To: [Project Manager / Electrical Foreman / Site Supervisor]
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and licensed Solar Site Supervisor to install, maintain, and troubleshoot solar photovoltaic (PV) systems. The ideal candidate will have strong electrical expertise, knowledge of solar energy systems, and a commitment to safety and quality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, inspect, and maintain solar PV systems [commercial]
- Perform electrical wiring and conduit runs in accordance with local and national electrical codes (NEC).
- Read and interpret blueprints, electrical schematics, and technical documents.
- Ensure system compliance with current NEC and local codes.
- Test system components and wiring for functionality and safety.
- Troubleshoot and repair system issues, including inverter, panel, or wiring problems.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and apprentices on site.
- Complete job-related documentation and reports accurately.
- Maintain a clean and safe job site at all times.
- Mentor others and ensure safe work practices are followed.
- Use hand and power tools safely and efficiently.
Qualifications:
- Valid Journeyman Electrician License strongly preferred
- Minimum 3–5 years of electrical experience, in solar PV installation.
- OSHA 10 or 30 certification preferred.
- Valid driver's license with clean driving record for past 5 years
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs, climb ladders, and work at heights or in confined spaces.
- Strong understanding of NEC and local electrical codes.
- Familiarity with various inverter systems (e.g., Enphase, SolarEdge, SMA).
Skills and Competencies:
- Able to run a commercial jobsite with multiple installers electricians and subs
- Strong knowledge of all aspects of solar electrical and racking installation methods
- Strong problem-solving and diagnostic skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Excellent attention to detail and workmanship.
- Effective communication and teamwork skills.
- Commitment to safety and regulatory compliance.
Working Conditions:
- Outdoor work in varying weather conditions.
- Exposure to heights, electrical currents, and construction environments.
- Flexible to work overtime, weekends, or travel to job sites as needed.

Hold a valid General Electrician Certification in California [Licensed Commercial Electrician] strongly preferred
Hours: Monday – Thursday [4] 10 hour shifts per week. 7 am to 5 pm
Travel 100% of the time unless project is w/in 50 miles of home. 3 to 5 nights in a hotel each week, usually 3.
