Immediate Need: Controller / Financial Operations Manager (Hands-On Department Builder) (Salary $100K-$110K + Bonus)
About Us
We are a privately owned, high-transaction service business generating ~$5M in annual revenue. With weekly payroll, significant vendor volume, and recurring debt obligations, we urgently need a hands-on financial leader to stabilize operations and build a finance department from the ground up.
The Role
We are seeking a Controller / Financial Operations Manager who thrives in a "Bob the Builder" environment -someone energized by creating order where there is chaos. You'll take full ownership of daily accounting operations, enforce financial discipline, and inject financial intelligence into every department.
What You'll Do
- Own QuickBooks Elite & Online: daily transactions, reconciliations, chart of accounts clean-up
- Manage AR/AP: enforce invoice-based payments, collections, and vendor credibility
- Oversee payroll (ADP): reconcile, validate, and correct payroll variances
- Deliver weekly executive dashboards: P&L, cash flow, AR/AP aging, payroll vs revenue, debt exposure
- Build budgets for every department and lead the 2026 company-wide budget process
- Identify cost savings, renegotiate vendor contracts, and enforce purchasing controls
- Teach department heads how to read budgets, control spend, and understand financial impact
- Ensure audit readiness and regulatory compliance
What We're Looking For
- 7-10+ years hands-on accounting experience
- Expert in QuickBooks Elite & xrczosw Online
- Mastery of AR/AP, payroll reconciliation, and bank reconciliations
- Experience in $3M-$10M service-based businesses
- Proven success in debt & cash-flow constrained environments
- Strong leadership and department-building skills
