Key Responsibilities: Senior Accountant
- Perform full-cycle accounting, including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
- Prepare monthly financial statements, budget-to-actual reports, and grant tracking schedules.
- Support program managers with financial insights to aid in budgeting and project planning.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and nonprofit accounting standards.
- Assist with annual audit preparation and liaise with auditors as needed.
- Maintain documentation for grant expenditures and funding sources.
- Streamline accounting processes to improve efficiency and transparency.
Qualifications of the Role: Senior Accountant
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
- Minimum 3-4 years of nonprofit accounting experience, including multi-grant or multi-program environments.
- Strong working knowledge of GAAP and fund accounting principles.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment with professionalism and composure.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Proficiency with accounting software and Excel; experience with nonprofit financial systems preferred.
